A new chapter in the Egee channel saga (Patreon)

It's been a long time coming but I've finally decided to rebrand the Egee channel and return to my roots: Gaming!

No, I'm not talking about OpenEgee. I'm talking about Egeexyz!

I changed the pfp a couple months ago (and that was like "Step 1") but the name change is what makes it official in my mind.

Most (practically all?) of you know me from OpenEgee where I do the good ole ASMR content you know and love. But before that, my home was the Egee channel where I made Linux videos.

I started out doing old game reviews and videos about my Linux desktop. But at some point I went all-in on Linux. I've reflected a lot but I'm still not exactly sure what roped me into the world of Linux YouTube.

I had a few really successful videos and it even lead to a moderately successful Medium publication for a time!

But it was never fun the way OpenEgee is. Linux videos are difficult and time consuming. Nobody was ever satisfied with them, and they earn little to nothing in revenue.

I've only been semi-active on the channel for the past couple years and the viewership has dropped to almost nothing. Which makes it a great time to pivot back to gaming content!

I have yet another YouTube channel where I used to upload old videos and I've been seeing really sweet comments like these on those videos lately. And there were a lot of questions about gaming in the Q&A so people seem interested in it so..

I'm doin' it. Starting with a silly game called Void Bastards.

Because I want to continue to focus on OpenEgee, I'll probably only do quick and simple gameplay videos like these. Game reviews are fun but they are a lot of work and just not something I want to get into right now.

But yeah, if you are looking for more Egee content or you like gamer things (or just like having gameplay in the background, whatev), I'm here for ya. 😎
