If you know me, you'll know that I love AWS. Actually, that's not true at all; I don't particularly like AWS but it is the cloud service I know well and I don't really want to learn any other service (besides Digital Ocean maybe).

The Egee.io servers, website, and Discord bot are all hosted locally at my home on a puny dual core Intel workstation. We regularly over saturate the poor machine playing Rust & Minecraft and I've considered migrating away from that little workstation/server thing for a while.

At the beginning of October I decided to test out running a t2.micro EC2 instance with a single game server running on it, Team Fortress 2. About 6 of us played on the server tonight and it went really well, especially considering a t2.micro is a single core 1gb virtual machine.

There's a very good chance that all of Egee.io will be moved to AWS by the end of the year. I'm kind of excited about it because using a cloud provider instead of on-premises hardware offers a lot of flexibility for me to expand what Egee.io as a platform is capable of!
