NEW New Reliable? Maybe. I spent this afternoon replacing the hard drive in this laptop and installing/configuring Ubuntu on it. Took me a couple of hours to get it all working but here's the fruits of my labor!

I got LastPass and all my other Firefox add-ons installed, set up Discord, and arranged my bookmarks the same as on the previous laptop so it doesn't confuse me with a new order. I can even run OBS on this if I want to, though that's out of the scope of what I intend to do with this computer.

It's a used laptop, so it's not perfect of course. The previous owner is kinda paranoid about security so even though no one is ever around her computers she always puts an admin BIOS password on them. I couldn't change the laptop's boot settings without it so I'll have to run it by her place and have her take the password off or something. That said, as long as the USB boot key is in the laptop it'll boot into Linux just fine and keep all of my settings intact.

What happens to the laptop currently nicknamed "New Reliable"? I am exploring my options. I am considering wiping the HDD and also installing Linux on that computer because it just doesn't have the memory needed to keep up with Windows 10 and also multitask on top of that. It chugged just switching channels in Discord. Hopefully if I can streamline the laptop I can set up something really cool! My idea is to register a second account on Twitch and have it be one of those "Always On" channels that'll only show repeats of Gatorbox videos from the 11+ years we've been on the air. That way there's always something to watch even when I'm not live! Not sure if it will catch on, but it's an idea at least.

I am thankful for the friend of my family that donated this laptop just as I am thankful for Racquerr and Baralheia who donated New Reliable several years ago. Prior to that we used my own personal laptop that was perpetually on death's door, lmao. I promise to keep all of this stuff in active use so it never goes to waste!
