Another month in the bag, another "Month In Review" post for all you swell Patreon supporters! (And supporters-to-be?)

May 2017 just might be one of the most important months in the history of this channel. Lots of growth, lots of developments, and most importantly lots of support from you all!

The month kicked off with some amazing news from Twitch; after streaming with their service for years and accruing hundreds of followers and thousands of cumulative views, Twitch contacted us out of the blue and offered Gatorbox a place in their "Affiliates" program which means we can now accept Twitch Bits! For those not in the know, "Bits" are Twitch's in-house currency system which you can use to make "cheers" and donations to your favorite entertainers and streamers. Bits can be bought or earned through watching ads and one Bit equals one US cent. After one month of being on the Affiliates program you guys cheered a total of 23,728 times! (That's $237.28 raised for this channel!)

Very special thanks go out to j11harms, notouchpls, and nekrose7 who were our top cheer-ers!

A couple months ago we finally reached 1,000 subscribers on YouTube which was a milestone important to us because we promised ourselves once we got here that we'd take a look at YouTube networks, find one with honest business practices, and sign up with them to further help grow the channel. We decided upon Union For Gamers (Curse Network) because of their very generous profit sharing as well as their fair contract terms. Should anything go wrong (fingers crossed this doesn't happen), we can end our partnership without penalty. It's a good option to have, and because we were at 1,000 subscribers Gatorbox was eligible for their network!

And the hits don't stop there. For reaching 1,000 subscribers and growing to such a formidable size it turns out Gatorbox was also accepted onto IMDb! (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt6854476/?ref_=nv_sr_2) There's now a page on their website just for us complete with some basic information about the show's cast and crew! This doesn't necessarily translate to anything major, but it's still an honor to be considered for a spot in the database. It shows that our hard work is paying off and that other folks are starting to pay attention.

Finally, it wouldn't be a proper Month In Review if we didn't talk about some new tech that we picked up for the show. Shown in the photo up there is the "LOOT CAM 2000", a monstrosity we found at a secondhand store called the VideoEye Power Zoom. (It's a medical device for people with macular degeneration -- a form of tunnel vision where only your peripheral vision works). It's capable of zooming in up to 100x and outputs 480p resolution video over RCA composite cables. It's slightly old technology that cost a fortune when it came out, and we got it at a steal for just $30. No idea what we're going to use it for, but it'll probably be something for GatorUNbox of course. It might help with trading cards!

Finally, in closing we'd like to thank both j11harms and Fandramon who sent us some neat stuff to the PO box! If you'd like to send us something to unbox, mail your letter/packages to:

Thank you again to all of our patrons! We hope to have you here next month as well! <3
