Apparently, my screen recording didn't capture audio, so let me know if the video clips aren't enough to help you sync. Also, Prime changed its membership, and didn't automatically upgrade me to no ads, so I cut them out, down to the individual frame, but if it's still a syncing problem, I'll re-upload it, since I have to re-record the episode anyway to use for the future YouTube version. Actually, I may just do that anyway lol

SyFy's Battlestar Galactica (another great one to put on your list) also had a budget that they utilized well. The trick is to strategically use effects. Ronald D Moore, showrunner for BSG, explained that some of their episodes had to be more character driven or box episodes in order to save their money for the big battle episodes full of special effects. Even then though they still had amazing sets. You can kind of see that in this show too. Though it feels like they had an even bigger budget than BSG.

Ah that makes sense! I know a little of the story behind BSG and the reboot, but I've never seen either. I just know one of the actresses from BSG was also in Lucifer, and she's great! 😄

lmao so I always wait until after a show is pretty much wrapped or pretty far into its run before I start watching because I like to marathon them so I dont have to worry about cliffhangers. Its biting me now though because I have seen this entire show and know how amazing it is but will have to wait for your reactions because I enjoy them so much so its like watching the series fresh all over again and having to deal with cliffhangers lmao

Movie Night

😂😂😂 I'd say I'm sorry, but there's a tiny bit of sadistic humor in this. I hope watching me unravel over the suspense makes up for it! I can't wait to watch the whole thing!

Great reactions so far, looking forward to so many moments to come in the show, it really is a combination of terrific writing, probably the most science accurate sci-fi show ever done by a long shot (some liberties taken like travel times for working as a show), and an almost entirely very strong cast. It only gets better from here! A couple of things brought up during the reaction, nothing that important but for a bit more context- The Mars Flagship Donnager, has a crew of about 2000 in a length of about 500 meters, for context of that loss and a rough sense of scale for the largest ships that show up here and there in the show. Closest modern comparison would be a super carrier that is closer to 300 meters long (though larger crew, presumably more automation in the future) so these are very large ships. Asking about LADAR- it's basically a laser based version of radar. Current versions are usually called Lidar (light instead of laser) and are used by some unmanned cars for instance. In a vacuum it could work much better at longer ranges like RADAR since there isn't any air to limit it. It's basically its the main ship sensor so when they bring up LADAR just think Radar or scanners. Also, I always think it's pretty funny that the Mormon representative is trying to essentially fire Fred because they think he has ties to a terroristic organization... and they decide to tell him when it's just the 2 of them in a tiny capsule Fred is controlling surrounded by space on all sides.
