I live for the Interview sequence. There’s a lot to say with how ill-fated this show was and the missteps Fox made (by not airing the pilot first), but for the former film student in me, this episode is a screamingly good introduction episode. As episode 3 (and in the actual broadcast, number 2!), this episode has three purposes: 1. Further introduce and cement the character archetypes and dynamics 2. Set up the “Government” in this Western environment 3. Set up the “savages” of this Western, which unfortunately represented Indians, but here it’s far less objectionable stereotyping. The latter two concepts are so hugely important to the ongoing story, and I think the importance of them gets lost (partially because of the story getting abbreviated and only kinda finished). But even though not every episode contains both of those forces, the subtext of having them permeates all the stories in this show. Jacqui, I’m glad you survived the jump scares. Also, your “Captain -pants may get a very new phrase added in the next episode. It’s good to get to see you laugh a bit more in this show. Now…Jacqui, this next comment is not for you. This comment is for your viewers, so Jacqui, do not read past this point. I’d love a reply, but not on this last line. This is only for those of us who have watched the show, okay? OKAY???? Okay… … … Stop reading, Jacqui!!! … … … … … Okay, are we safe? All here now? Jacqui gone? Good. Gang……is anyone worried for our dear Jacqui after seeing her jump scare reaction, knowing what is eventually coming. And don’t ask what…you know what I mean? Is it just me?

Not a spoiler by any means, but one thing I will say about the show, while short and sweet, it is a complete show, by that I mean, there doesn't seem like a story or experience unexplored in some sense in the little they were able to give us.

I’ll respectfully disagree on that front, though for respect for Jacqui, I won’t go into details of which ones I think were left woefully unexplored. Maybe a discussion worth having after she’s through.
