I think you made every face possible during the Leckie/Stella moments lol, but in all seriousness it’s a great episode, the start of Basilone dealing with the complex as you said is interesting..as is seeing how what happened in Australia shapes Leckie’s perspective of people around him moving forward.

John Basilone is one of those people who you hear about thats a Marine's marine. As is Chesty Puller, men who gave the corps that legacy. They are both played and portrayed excellently in this series.

While many Australian troops were fighting in North Africa many thousands were fighting and dying this entire time in New Guinea. At first to stop the Japanese and then to slowly begin pushing them back. That is part of the resentment towards the Marines from Aussie troops.
