Unfortunately for you, you won't find this pair for sale on AVex. I ended up paying for them and I am keeping them. So that should help you understand how these sound/feel.

I love my AKG 712 Pros i sold them once and had to get them back again although they are from Slovakia tbh it does make a difference to me. I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the Darkvoice tonight the 712s are asking for tube lovin.

Awesome review as always but it kind of cut off at the end there. Love your night owl updates :)

Nice review as always. I hate to ask but, what do I get in these over the mkIII's (besides openness of course) for the about 50$ extra? Thanks Z!

K712 comparisons made to STAX? I think I'll be trying these.

Their K line is beyond confusing to me...

Well come now.. They aren't stax. But an amazing example of open headphones doing open headphone things.

Here in the netherlands I can get them for 225€ while the t50's are about 160€. But since I just got my t50's (with the shure pads and vmoda cable) and I can only return the headphones, I'm afraid it might already be too late.

How are these compared to the Philips Fidelio X2's?

ZeosPantera

The sound demo's aren't always accurate. But I try to describe them better.

Picked these up today; well more specifically they came Fedex - for a song. These cans paired basically with Xonar Phoebus's headphone amp at medium gain yields results across the gamut of listening theaters that, in my opinion, having been a long time owner of HD600's before I laid them off on my bro ( in mint condition, I modded the box too ), dwarfs their capabilities. Strong words to be sure, nevertheless what sets it off for me is the disparity of each imaging model between the two; whereas the Sennheiser presents a very musical performance it never extends into surround motifs which against the commanding circumaural experience present with the k712 is left wanting. Otherwise I find the eqing of this unit is more vibrant and engaging.
