Hey everyone!

This week I decided to finally bite the bullet and tackle something that's been weighing me down for a while. Ever since the engine upgrade I've tended to focus on a handful of levels, mainly because the process of updating the older levels to match the quality of the newer ones is such a long (and sometimes arduous) task!

I am happy to report however, that two of the levels have now successfully made the leap; namely Middle Age Crisis and Hare Today Gong Tomorrow! As I hope you can see below there are quite a large number of improvements, from lighting, to post processing, all new PBR materials and the addition of lush grass shaders just to name a few (Top is before, below is after)!

Going back over Middle Age Crisis in particular has also allowed me the opportunity to weave some more lore into the level (environmental story telling is real goal for me). For example this room (below) used to feature a bottomless pit, now however it's filled with Dr Daucus' Elixir, which both helps explain his presence in this time period and also why Clive 'N' Wrench ended up locked in the dungeon in the first place!

Creating atmosphere in the newer version of the engine is also much easier now for a myriad of reasons, which has resulted in a much better feeling environment for Hare Today Gong Tomorrow. As a side note, these levels now run far, far better too and frame rates are through the roof!
