Hello fellow translators,

Again, thank you very much for supporting this project. I received a lot of response … most of them are bug and error reports, some even asked me to create a feature specific to certain games … I’m sorry I can’t reply each of your comment and post. But I assure you I have read all your posts and take appropriate action based on it.

But, here is a problem …. As you know, I develop Translator++ alone… by myself…. This is a single person project! It is virtually impossible for a mere mortal like me  to accommodate all your request while working full time and living a healthy life.

So, I decided to focus on a thing at a time. It is more productive that way.

I break down 6 major aspects based on Translator++ application lifecycle that I need to focus on, as follow :


Focus on Utility & Features

Focus more on adding more or improving utility and features.

For example : Adding more capability to export into / import from various format.

Enrich grid’s feature, expand text editor’s capability, adding text to voice feature etc.


Focus on UI & UX

Focus more on the “ease of use” aspect of the application. 

Put right things at the right places.

Develop more intuitive way of how user interact with the application.

We all love eye candy. A good looking application is always appreciated. 

Develop feature to utilize user’s multi screens.


Focus on Documentation

Focus on creating help file, end user guides, tutorials, “how to” videos, etc.

Honestly, this is the part I disliked the most when developing an application … But … I fully aware that this is one of the most important thing on an application. I usually do my best to make things self explanatory to avoid working on guides and tutorial …but … if you insist….


Focus on Adding new translator engine

Focus on developing new translator engines such as Naver translator, Yandex, Infoseek etc,


Focus on R&D for compatibility with other game engines

The very goal of this application is “to aid translator translating games” … that’s it!… not being shackled by the small number of engines it currently supported. I could say that this is a very big goal.

It’s my dream to make Translator++ support major engine like Unity… Or popular visual novel engine like RenPy, Kiri-kiri, or the now growing Tyrano...


Focus on Community

Bigger community means bigger support and bigger motivation for developer!

Create developer blog, discord channel, and for God sake … do something with those dreamsavior.net site!



As you can see, there is 6 major things I need to do to maintain this application. It's hard for me to answer all your problems while developing new utility and features … and vice versa. 

Every month I will release a poll about what should I prioritize on the next month of the poll release. I need your help to pick one aspect you think very important to do next month… I will do my very best to focus on the aspect of the poll results.

Now as a patron, you have a power to direct the development of Translator++.

Here's a feature that desperately needed: Right now your Find and Replace feature does not work on the Original Column text. As a user, I translate the text manually with Google Translate. I need to do an game wide search for certain string and replace it. I end up having to duplicate the Original column in every single file, taking me 2 hours just to "prep" the files so they are translatable. Please, either a) Have a feature that allows Find and Replace On Original column, b) Have a feature that auto dupes the Original column to a Copy column so I can use the existing Find and Replace

The advantage of the Translator++ is that I can try to translate without having a game engine. Translating a game engine that is especially difficult to use with traditional translation programs(hooker) is a major challenge. (ex: SRPG Studio, dlsite number RJ153191) Therefore, I think you should focus on 'Focus on R&D for compatibility with other game engines' the most.
