First of all, thanks so much to everyone for your support and comments and messages. It really means a lot.

So based on the response to the poll (and the huge chunk of you who have increased your support amount already; thank you so much), I will be moving forward with changing the lowest tier from $1 to $2. Just to reiterate, this will not change your personal pledge. If you're pledging $1 a month, you'll still be pledging that amount. You just won't be part of a specific tier. Also, as mentioned, the $2 per month tier rewards will be made available to everyone ($1 a month patrons included) for at least the next year. So if you don't want to make the change, don't worry. You'll still have access to all the content you signed up for.

I'll also likely be making a changing to the "zombie portrait" tier. Not sure what yet. But if you are a part of that tier, have not yet received a portrait (and would like a portrait) send me a message so I can get that going!

Also, because polls are fun, we're doing another poll.

Below are a selection of options for potential higher tier rewards (>$10 per month). Let me know which of these would be the most appealing to you! (choose as many options as you'd like)

And if you vote for any options, let me know what $ tier you think makes sense for the reward.

Note: Still coming up with ideas for new patreon stuff (both higher and lower tiers). So expect more polls and discussions like this throughout the month!

UPDATE: The $1 per month tier was unpublished, but not deleted. So if you're in that tier, you can stay there as long as you'd like! It will not be deleted until everyone currently pledged to it shifts to the $2 per month tier, which is now the lowest tier for new patrons.

Meant to add this as an option, so I'm just putting it here: if you have any suggestions for variations on the options above, or suggestions for entirely different new rewards for higher tiers, reply to this comment

Oops forgot to comment on the previous post. Patreon/small pledges system is flawed in that it only works when subscriber number is huge... While I do wish to provide tangible support, my income/funds are (also) limited, so remaining at the lowest $1 is basically moral support in the real sense... I also don't come from a tip culture so that also makes a difference in support tier sentiment. (And also I have multiple favourite creators that want to "support", so all the little pledges still add up...) Please let me know if I'm the only remaining $1-er and you'd like to purge that entire legacy tier.

I can assure you and all other patrons that your support, no matter the amount, is tangible to me. Even though I don't have the biggest patreon around, the support I get here lets me pass up a few extra freelance gigs each month, and take that time to work on comics. And the increase in support over the last few days has been a huge help in my current financially uneasy time while I look for work to make up for my loss of a day job. And just to reiterate, I am more than happy to keep the $1 per month tier as long as those patrons remain. I sincerely appreciate everyone who was and is currently a part of it. I only discussed deleting it, because I didn't know it was an option to unpublish and keep it around indefinitely.

The Choose your own Adventure series sounds the most promising to me. Almost ajin to Jonathan Coulton's thing a week he did years ago where he made himself write and compose a song a week. Not every sing is good of course but he still came up with some bangers. I know there's also a writing version of this once a year but I forget the exact details. Like, a 10,000 word story in week or month, something like that. Doing the CYOA will likely have the same effect for you with the added benefit of not having to come up with Every idea necessarily. I would think it would create more engagement/followers too but what do I know....
