Finally the first release of Path of Kings. It's been a long month for us but it went by really fast. It has also been a strange month and really turned everything upside down on us. We are starting to settle in on this new direction, and have so much to bring you guys.

This build has almost everything we wanted to get into it. We didn't get the main city painting finished because it is just massive, it has to been done twice since there is a night and day version. We think it's at a really good place for only three weeks of work. If this pace keeps up we are so excited on what may come in February.

There is zero content obviously but we think this build does a good job of showing the direction and quality we want to bring to you guys. The resolution is bumped up a lot and the quality of everything is also higher. It's best to try it out in 1080p or 720p or some 16:9 resolution, 4:3 will still work fine you'll just lose a lot of scene real estate.

We feel the progress has been very fast and we hit all major goals we had when we set out on this project three weeks ago. We will be looking to finish the city, stat systems, menus, so that everything is out of the way so content can start. This game will look and play similar to Injustice but it's designed very differently underneath. Taking all the design flaws and correcting them or at least streamlining will help us deliver a more polished product month/month. By the end of February we would like to have some basic content functioning.

The way this game is being built is very different too and should give more even distribution of content build to build. This project is being designed around being released on Patreon monthly. We would like to see every build be a steady step forward with all problems or delays not being experienced by you. Of course there will always be bugs, there's no way around that, but we have taken steps to make sure past problems don't creep up again.

There will be a constant stream of sketches and material coming out as the game is being designed. We would like the insiders and above support levels to get a sense that they are watching the whole thing come together week by week. There will plenty of content for the entry and basic levels also.  We are also exploring voting or some kind of involvement with character creation and content later on when it takes more shape.

We want to thank you all so very much for you continued support over this very stressful month.  We are so very grateful, and hope you can get a good feel of what we want to bring you.

Sincerely Sunsetriders7 and SmokeShank

Saved at what I think was the town map, but I have to say... that opening is very nice. You and Oni have to be the best artist/ game artists I've seen on Patreon.

FIRST BUG! its not that bad, but if you are in windowed the screen and images will twitch a bit, but that could because of the animation and resolution. The other is how even in full screen some of the words will twitch, but that might go with words showing on the screen and the animation in the background playing.

Can see a lot of effort at work Keep up the good work.

The art is top notch guys. Really excited to get into the game. My only suggestion would be to consider a different font for the text. A lot of the words seemed to bleed together for me. Did notice a typo on the Thief's description. Instead of Rise is said Rist. Seemed like there was an apostrophe missing during the thief's tale too but I don't recall. I'll run through it again and see if I catch it again. But great job. That opening title sequence was jaw dropping.

We are exploring other text options. SR7 ran into problems with the actual script lining up with the paralaxing intro's - SmokeShank

The general idea looks good, even with a lot of placeholders for art. A little constructive criticism: since you have multiple save slots for playing different characters, it would be nice to be able to goback to the main menu and switch characters/save slots without shutting down the whole game.

encountered a few screen twitches on 1366x768 at simple, but nonetheless surprised how much you did in a span of three weeks :D
