Looking at the items in his bag, he took a moment to think about the pros and cons.

Project: Herakles is still in its testing phases, sure, it worked 20 out of the 74 tests that he's done for the past year, and yes, it was only 50% of its full power, it still worked.

But it was so inconsistent, and the fact that AFO or other major villains were watching this makes him decide to just leave it be for now. Maybe next time when he absolutely needs to.

Then, Project: Hades' Hound (It's a reference, people!) has finished its beta tests, and was now ready to be used in real combat. So, he grabbed it before locking his locker.

The school decided to give a 2-hour break for the final match, so he had about an hour plus left to get ready. Calming his heartbeat down, he starts going through all the techniques that he mainly used to make sure that his body was in tip-top shape.

Placing his headphones on, he scrolled through his playlist before pressing on a song.

Slowly, he raises his leg, not relying on gravity and momentum to perform each move, muscle memory guiding his actions as he made sure that each move did not have any mistakes. Doing the motions made him feel at peace too before the calm of the storm.

This was going to be an exciting match.

On the stage, Gohru was next to a briefcase, with Denji holding a long object that was covered in cloth. They were both stretching for the fight.

"Ladies and gentlemen! This is the moment we've been waiting for, the final match of the First Year's Sports Festival! Let me hear your hypeeeeee!" (Present Mic)

The crowd erupts as the class of 1-A were quite excited about the match. After all, it was the fight between the best of the class, no one behind the railing is not pumped up about this kind of match, they could finally see the full power of both students.

"This has been one heck of a tournament, but now it's finally coming to an end with this fight! So, are you excited for this, Eraser?" (Present Mic)

"In terms of power and speed, it would be in Jin's favor, but versatility is important too, and Uraraka has displayed his versatility to overcome his problems well with his Quirk control." (Eraser Head)

"Said it like a true teacher! Hear that, folks? This match will be a close one!" (Present Mic)

Down on the stage, Midnight checks both items in their briefcases before nodding in confirmation.

"The Principal has allowed the usage of weapons! But no permanent injuries!"

She said out loud to the mic before turning it off for a second.

"And Jin-kun, Uraraka-kun, the Principal has warned not to go all out as the League of Villains may be watching. You two are the most powerful students in your UA year right now, so the Principal doesn't want them to know your full capabilities."

She relayed the information with a whisper.

"Can we still show off though? For our internship?"

Denji asked which she nods in acceptance before turning the mic back on.

"Both of you, to your sides!"

Before walking to their opposite sides, they fist bumped as Denji grinned.

"Oh, I prepared a present for you."

"Huh, me too. Hope you'll like it."

Gohru matched the grin as they walked to their sides.

"I don't think you all need any more introductions!

Class 1-A, Jin Gohru!

Versus!

Class 1-A, Uraraka Denji!" (Present Mic)

"Get ready..."

Midnight announces as they stood still.

"FIGHT!"

Midnight starts the fight.

Not moving, they stared at each other for a few seconds before Gohru opens his briefcase while Denji unravels his object. Taking the object out from his briefcase, he looked over at Denji's weapon before whistling.

It was an odachi with a clean steel blade, reaching about 100 centimeters, almost as tall as Denji. The hilt was mainly black with a little gold at the end, while its tsuba (guard) was gold with the design of a dragon. 

Denji looked over at his weapon before raising his eyebrow. It was a long staff that was silverish white, with three grips that were gray, dividing each section into three equal parts. 

"So... Sparring Rules?"

Gohru shrugs at the question.

"I guess so."

"Alright then."

Breathing out, Denji unsheathes and raised his odachi upwards while Gohru swung the staff to his side before gripping it with both hands, pointing it at Denji. 

A few seconds of staring at each other, trying to find any openings, Denji moved. 

Rokushiki: Soru.

ZOOM!

Denji reaches Gohru in a second, with dust rising upwards from the sudden displacement of air.  

SWISH!

Denji goes for a diagonal slash to the left.

PING!

But Gohru reacts with ease as he parries the swing before going for an attack of his own. 

WHOOSH!

After parrying, he immediately thrust his staff towards Denji's heart. 

PING!

Denji blocks it by putting his blade in between the staff and his chest with both hands, coming out from the attempt unscathed as he skids a few steps back.

This interaction was only 2 seconds long, causing both the viewers and villains alike to stare at the power gap between them and the ones fighting currently. 

BOOM!

Gohru dashes forwards as he raised his staff over to his shoulder, preparing a vertical swing. Denji tenses his body as Gohru swings.

PING!

The attack caused Denji's footing to cave into the cement floor as he successfully blocks the attack. Gohru instantly twists midair after the attack was blocked, gaining momentum for another vertical swing.

BANG!

The attack slams onto the ground, causing it to blast into debris as Denji dodged the staff with a roll. Retaliating, Denji throws out a horizontal slash at the still midair Gohru. 

WHIISH!

Gohru uses both his arm and core strength to flip himself away from the slash using the staff that was still on the ground as support. Landing onto the ground on all four, Gohru sweeps Denji with a low sweeping kick which causes him to lose balance. 

Using 3D Maneuver, Denji quickly escapes the potential follow-up attack by going backwards. He lands and immediately stays on guard as Gohru casually walks to get his staff that was standing upright in the ground.

"W-What display of body movement from Jin and Quirk usage from Denji to dodge their attacks!"

Present Mic yells to the mic as everyone watched the fight intently. 

Gohru pulls the staff out of the ground before skillfully twists the staff with high speeds until both ends of the staff started to literally burn from the air friction.

As if lighting had struck Denji, he gaped at the staff before pointing at it. 

"Don't tell me that it's — !"

"It is!"

He had a shit-eating grin as he closes the distance between them in a blink of an eye. Denji quickly raised his guard to block the attack as he withstood the hot flames of the staff as they collided with his blade, ignoring the sparks of fire from the clashing of the weapons.

Eventually, Gohru disengaged the close combat and jumped a few meters far from Denji as he held the staff with one hand while the other was raised, acting as a crosshair aiming at Denji. 

"Oh my god, now that I look at it, it really is it!"

Gohru returned the shit-eating grin as Gohru changes target to the space next to Denji. Pressing a button on the staff's surface, he could feel it hum as it vibrated until purple lightning starts to surge, dancing around the staff. 

"Blast!"

He thrust and let go of the button, causing the staff to burst out sparking in purple lightning and divide into three sections, all connected through a semi-translucent link.

The 3 sections of the staff extended in a straight line until it was about 10 meters long, electrocuting everything near the staff before retracting once the lightning dissipated, connecting one section at a time until it was back to its staff mode. 

"What?! The staff just turned into a purple frying three-section staff!" (Present Mic)

"You bitch, you recreated King Cercebus! Without ME?!"

Denji yelled in faux anger as Gohru gave him an "Ojou-sama" laugh with his hand covering his mouth.

"When you have money to burn, you can create almost anything, my dear student! Ohohohohoho!"

Finishing his laughter, he presses a different button on the staff as the sections of the staff separated before getting connected through the same semi-translucent link, this time it became a three-handed nunchuck.

Holding the nunchuck with one hand, he held onto one of the handles while tucking the remaining two in his armpit, giving Denji a "Come On" gesture. 

"Come on! Show me what you got!"
