CHAPTER 66

"Now, I'll explain the rules of the cavalry battle. 

The time limit is 15 minutes. Each team is worth the total of its members' points, and the rider wears a headband with that number on their foreheads. 

Teams will try and grab each other's headbands until time runs out, and try to keep a many points as they can. Stolen headbands must be worn from the neck up, so the more you steal, the harder it'll be to manage them!

And the most important thing is that even if your headband gets stolen, or if your team falls, you're not out!"

Midnight explained the rules as everyone starts brainstorming. 

"Which means... Since there's 42 people here, there will be ten or twelve teams on the field. That would be chaotic instantly since..."

Yaoyorozu glanced at Midoriya after stating her fact. 

"10 million points sure is a lot..." 

Sato remarked as Aoyama groaned. 

"That's so tough."

"Well. one strategy that could be done is to let someone take your points first, so you'll be more free to attack..."

"But what if you can't get it back?"

Ashido and Asui discussed some of the strategies of the game.

"During the game, it'll be a cruel fight with your Quirks, but it is still a cavalry battle! So if you try to make people fall on purpose, then it will be a red card for your team! You will be disqualified immediately!"

Hearing Bakugo click his tongue at the restriction, suddenly a timer appeared on the hologram, showing 15 minutes.

"Now, you have 15 minutes to build your teams. Start!"

With that, everyone started to panic as they saw Gohru and Denji together before quickly asking them to join their party. 

"Nope."

"Nah."

Getting shot down instantly, he was about to continuously deny everyone asking when suddenly his ears heard a specific voice in the crowd of people. 

"Please join my team."

He instantly shut his mouth tightly as he heard Shinso ask, in fear of his brainwashing. Frowning, Shinso continued to ask him while sometimes taunting him. 

 "Come on, you're so strong, can't you add me? Or is it that you're scared or something? As the World Champ, you're scared of little me?"

Ignoring the crowd now, he looked over at Denji who had kept his mouth shut the entire time. Tilting his head, Denji nodded in understanding as Shinso clicked his tongue in annoyance amongst the crowd. 

Now far enough, Denji whispers to Gohru.

"So, who are we targeting?"

"... From our memories combined, we should get the ones that do not conflict with the plot."

Nodding, they started planning on who to fight and not fight, along with agreeing to hold themselves back since they wanted everyone to do their best for impressing their future internship members.

When the time was up, Gohru took a glance at the members before nodding. It seemed that the plot didn't change that much, just a few member switches for class 1-B and some minor team changes in his class too, while Todoroki and Bakugo's teams were still the same. 

Letting Denji hop up onto his shoulder, he ignored the playing of his hair as he glanced over at Midoriya's team. 

Instead of Midoriya, Tokoyami was the one who was the rider, while Midoriya was now the front horse of the team. That was a good plan. More range for defense and offense, along with a front horse that could take, evade, and avoid attacks better with his Full Cowl. 

Coupled with Hatsume's "babies" and Ochako's Quirk to make them lighter, they will be moving quite fast. One of the better balanced teams. 

"Now then! It's about time to get started!"

Midnight announced as everyone got to their positions outside the stage until the game started, with Gohru taking the top left portion of the stage with no one at his back. 

The corners of the battle stage are the best for those with mobility, as the team could note attacks coming in front of them without worrying about their backs. 

"After 15 minutes to form teams and talk strategy, twelve teams are lined up on the field in position!"

Present Mic voiced out loud as Aizawa leaned closer to get a better look.

"There are some interesting teams out there."

He gave his opinion as Present Mic hyped the crowd up. 

"Now, raise those battle cries! It's time for UA's bloody battle to begin! Light the signal fire!"

Typing the headband on his head with their points written on it, Denji grinned as he patted at Gohru's head. 

"Time to get wild, horsey!"

A/N: 

Unfortunate, but it's going to be a short chapter. The Cavalry battle was about 3k words long, so I have to it up to 2 chapters. But it should still be about 1.9 - 2k words long next chapter, so I think it's excusable to give you a short one today.
