one of the better reveals i've seen in a show in a really long time before and after. his back story is pretty amazing, and the actor did an excellent job. i would like to say, brenner is and has always been a bad guy. there really is no 'morally grey area' with him. let's not forget he sought out one with the intent to control him, and when he couldn't, sought to make copies of him that he could control. he tortured, tested, abused, kidnapped, and imprisoned children so he could do this. even now, i wouldn't say his intentions are all that 'noble'. he could care less what happens to his employees or the people of hawkins, as long as he gets 11 back. someone who called him papa and with the abilities of 1. his perfect 'child'.
