Home  to a Master of flames and war, this imposing keep is surrounded by a   moat of lava and bristling with siege weapons ready to set aflame any   who dare approach. A killbox awaits those who manage to break through   the front gates, and should any set foot in the courtyard beyond, they   will be met with deadly, overwhelming force.

This  keep is designed to be difficult to enter, as well as to escape from.  Consider using these plot hooks to kick off adventures in the Flame  Lord's Keep

  • Prisoners of War: The party has been taken hostage by some of the Flame Lord's troops and  are being held in a dungeon below. Once they're able to escape from  whatever awaits within, they are met with the Flame Lord themself as  they exit into the courtyard. Perhaps they are high above, raining fire  down below. Or perhaps they are a straight forward warrior, standing at  the ready to cut them down
  • The Unending Flame: The adventurers must infiltrate or fight there way into the keep so  that they can find an artifact believed to be held by the Flame Lord.  This crystalized shard of flame seems frozen in time and grants the  wielder great power over fire, as well as immunity to it. Without  retrieving this, there is little hope of defeating the Flame Lord and  saving their city from destruction.
  • A Fiery Performance: Not everything about the Keep is doom and gloom, as even evil soldiers  and Lords need entertainment. The party has been hired to accompany a  local performing troupe as bodyguards or fellow performers. The mission  is simple. Get in, make them all laugh and cry with joy and amazement,  and then get out of there before their raging disposition returns with a  burning wrath.
