You learned the shooting skill before when you read the magazine, you know nothing about sword combat and this guys looks like an expert on it. So therefore, you use the gun and he uses the sword

Grey Fox is extremely proficient in swords, you should use the gun, but since the Young Queen never fired a gun before, reading a book doesn't make you good...this will be a poor choice, but doing the other one won't play on either of your strengths, its hard because both choices seem to be failures from the start. If there is an Option 3, that might be more preferable than the 2 choices we have.

I'd say use the sword, you only got one shot at shooting the attacker when he's distracted so I'd let Grey take the gun. Judt gotta dodge and distract :D

How about a Changeling-eske solution to this problem? Take the sword, and tell him you are going to use your "magic crystal" to transform into a copy of DD in order to distract Liquid and the beast while he sets up the shot. Then, use your changeling powers to swap forms. If you win and they ask questions, just tell them its a magic crystal you stole from the ponies. Liquid will probably get really confused when he sees two DDs.

You have read the manual on how to use a tranquilizer gun. However, knowledge is not the same as experience. You are still a Changeling, young queen. Perhaps you should take the sword as well as a griffon form (or something else that's NOT diamond dog). Taking on a new form would certainly gain their attention...as long as you don't let them see you change. This will mean that you'd have to reveal yourself to Grey Dog though. But if he's a stray, perhaps he'd be more willing to accept you than a pack based on old traditions. ...And out of curiosity, where did the alpha go?

Knowing how to use a gun an being GOOD at using it are two totally different things. Ask the stranger how good of a shot he is; if he's even remotely good, let him take the shot. If no, you take the gun, and get someplace high. If you can use the gun as a griffon, fly up above everyone and fire from there. Also, get rid of the D pack clothes like he suggests. As a final note, as the saying goes, "you can't con a con-man". You totally know that's DD's dad, but choose not to bring it up.

You don't have any experience using gun. Any idiot can be a distraction, and if the tatzlwurm gets close to catching you you can switch to another form for an advantage. The choice is pretty clear.
