Gosh, a lot's going on, isn't it?

Hey, everyone! First off, I've had a few people ask me this, so I'd like to say that I'm doing fine! Feeling healthy, and my job has officially been deemed "essential" by the state government, so I'm not going to be out of a day job because of COVID-19. Unfortunately, that means I haven't had as much time as I'd like to spend writing (I was so sure we'd get the axe), but I think I prefer financial security over the alternative.

And of course I still have time to write! Just not more time to write. With that in mind, I hope you enjoy my latest story!

Raphael is an exorcist, a magic-user hired specifically to repel attacks by hostile monster-women. For the most part, there aren't that many who bother with the small village of Beauchamp...which is perfect, considering he doesn't know a lick of magic. Still, the village grandmarm eventually comes calling, letting him know that he's been let go. It's nothing personal, but there doesn't seem to be much he can actually do to deal with monster-women.

Until, that is, Raphael has to fend off three powerful bandits that attack Beauchamp. But how can he defeat a trio of thieves far more powerful than himself without knowing a single spell?

I'm pleased with some elements of the finished product here, but there are still some things that I don't feel quite landed right. That being said, the editing process helped me make a few tweaks in the right direction! That's why I feel like they're a little iffy instead of totally missing. It's also the first time I've included a siren in one of my stories, and given they're my favorite mythological temptress ever, that was a real treat! I absolutely did not do sirens justice here, but I don't know if anyone ever really has.

As always, thank you so much for your support! I really appreciate it, and I hope that my writing can bring some semblance of entertainment in these trying times. Hopefully this all blows over sooner rather than later. Until it does, stay safe and be smart!

So glad to hear it! Stay safe, and know we all have your back! And a wonderful new story, too. All good news, and thanks!

I especially liked that despite her siren voice, Daphne’s actual language was every bit as rough as Alexis and Teresa’s. Siren or not, bandit's gotta bandit.
