It plays. And I have no vimeo account.

Watch-along mode is problematic with Buffy as there have been various releases over the last twenty years and some have scenes removed or have been slightly sped up and without at least some visual of the video it would be impossible for me to know if we are still in sync. Most Buffy reactors are including video and audio in their patreon reactions. I can only think of a couple that do watch-along with Buffy. I am currently supporting 10 other Buffy reactors on patreon and they all include the audio and video of the episode. Most of them are uploading to DropBox, but a couple are using Vidyard. While they can't upload these to YouTube, they are not getting any copyright issues from DropBox or Vidyard. One of them uploads to both Dropbox and Google Drive. I've been looking forward you watching Buffy since I first started watching your movie reactions maybe a year ago. I think I even recommended Buffy to you in the YouTube comments. You are going to enjoy this series and I'm really looking forward to your reactions, so if you continue with the watch-along mode I will at least still follow them on YouTube.

Super excited for the Buffy reactions and to get in on the ground floor! To echo what you've no doubt heard a million times, the show starts a little rough and campy, but by mid-season 2 it really, really finds its feet. Based upon your reaction to the first episode, I think you'll love it. In terms of the format, obviously you do you and I'll be here regardless but to my knowledge (and i've likely subbed to over 20 Buffy reactors ovver the past few years, including ones with thousands of Patrons), there has never been any issue with including the episode video within your reaction. As someone pointed out, there may well be syncing issues with the watchalong format due to the various releases over the years. In any event, thanks for picking this show and I can't wait to watch you experience it!

Oh thank you for bringing this up and also your support! I will not be providing the full episodes along with my full reaction more because of personal morals/ethics - I want the show to get the playbacks it deserves! But I do understand where it can be hard for a show like this that has so many different versions! I hadn't realized that! I've added a note in my tier description that lets people know I provide a timer/audio visual lead to help you get synced up with your copy and that I will be streaming all of these episodes on Hulu. As far as you sticking around on here or watching on Youtube, I'm grateful for your support either way!! Thanks for giving me a chance!

A new Buffy reactor is an automatic sub for me. I'm sure you'll come to love it as much as we do.

This is the first time someone I was already subscribed to on YouTube dropped a Buffy video. Buffy is my favorite thing ever, legitimately, and I’ve been a fan of your reaction videos since “ur weirdo friend” days, so joining your Patreon was a no brainer. I do have a Hulu subscription but I watched along with a US DVD Rip (which I also own) and while I had to shift the episode by about a second everything worked pretty smoothly for me. Looking forward to going on this journey with you and also to checking out your previous dinner & a movie Patreon exclusives as a fan of each of the films you’ve watched so far.

Really excited to watch this with you in. Loved this show when it originally aired. Apparently I missed the beginning of the first season, so some of these episodes are new to me too. Having never seen the first episode, it never occurred to me that the show might actually be a continuation of the movie, which is more of an origin story for the character. Might need to go back and watch that.

Most of the stars of BTVS were unknown, with a few exceptions. Sarah Michelle Gellar had a respectable career in Soap Operas as a child and teen, Anthony Head was famous in England in the Theatre. Alyson Hannigan started doing TV commercials at age 4, and movies at age 12. David Boreanaz had a recurring role on a soap and some guest spots on a few shows before landing the big role on the show. The other key players had done some bit parts in TV but this was their first major TV gig. The casting of most of the characters on the show was phenomenal and the chemistry is infectious and crackling with energy, never boring. Often imitated in the years since, BTVS brought cinematic horror with teen hipness and snappy dialog like an Indiana Jones movie. Also you will see that the action scenes get really good. Even in this first episode you see some serious knocking around and athletic stunts, with a certain brutality that TV did not have in other shows. Beverly Hills 90210 was getting really stale by 1997, and there were a bunch of spin-offs and imitators saturating the weekday evenings, also of low quality, recycled plots, lifeless dialog, etc. BTVS injected a shocking dose of electricity and new blood (ha!) into teen dramedy with relatively good special effects (usually), real scares, and characters the audience could care about, go through hell with, and even fall in love with.

I subscribed as I do most Buffy reactors. However, this is unwatchable as one has no idea, other than a timestamp, where she is in the episode. With all the different versions and the different time each has for commercial breaks, it's hard to stay in sync. I hope you change to showing at least a fuzzed out version; but if you don't that's fine. I'm sure you'll still have a nice audience. I'll stay for the month and see what happens. Good luck, Ross
