My thoughts:
I had never seen either of these films before JB showed 'em and probably never would've given either a chance if not for him. I love that on every version of his show (including TLDI) he introduces me to new flicks I would never have watched without him. I may not love them all (these are both just ok to me, for example...and there are plenty on TLDI I'll be quite happy to never have to sit through again ;), but I never regret giving them a shot, and I always find things to appreciate about them thanks to his knowledge and BTS tidbits.
The special guest this night was David Hackworth, who is sadly no longer with us. (Another thing I love about all these tapes is that so many folks in 'em are gone now, but at least these happy little moments can live on. :) He has some cool (not so PC ;) stories to tell, and JB teaches us how to make a WW3 Survival Kit, which seems super timely in 2021.
A quick note about quality: The audio starts out a lil' shaky, but gets better after the first segment or 2. There were about 5 versions of this to pick from when digitizing ("unmixed", "air copy", "rough cut", etc.) and I just grabbed one & hoped for the best. When these segments do go out on physical media, I'll digitize all the versions and add whichever version is best. (This can be said for a lot of the films, btw. There are lots of different copies for many of them & I'm kindly eeny-meeny-miny-moe-ing 'em as we go rn. :)
