Now, I know all of you are shouting "wait another idea!!!", or, "didn’t he say he didn’t have a lot of time this past month?"

Yeah, I did, but I also installed Dragon Naturally speaking (Home version 15 would not recommend, they dumbed it down too damn much) on my new laptop (thank you all!!!) and was playing with it while driving… and that just means I talk into it with the laptop closed, no more dangerous than just talking to the connected phone, don't worry. Anyway, that, coupled with the need to wait until my sleeping pills kicked in last night, let me write this out. And let me tell you, I was not pleased with how many corrections I had to make...

Regardless of my disdain for DNS 15 Home, this is partly a response to two questions and Novus’ comment in the latest question thread when he said that I don’t have a lot of non-Ranma or HP crossovers (two, just... two). And unfortunately, as much as myself and people like Hiryo might say otherwise, the Ranma fandom is dying out. Well of good stories anyway. While fanfiction is as popular as ever, probably more so, considering the dumpster fires shared by various media outlets lately.

And yes, this is a shot fired. Not that it needs any more shots. Burn, RoP burn!  And the marvel show that shall not be named can join it.

But regardless, My Hero Academia has far more stories than Ranma. And I can kind of see why. Mind you, I really don’t approve of how spineless the main character is in a lot of ways, and I certainly don’t like much of what has happened since Eri was rescued.  I understand why some of it has happened, but really, you don’t have to force your main character to always be the underdog. At some point in a story like this, the tide needs to turn.

I also had two questions recently put to me. One was about what kind of fandom I would use if I wanted to create a story with a more cerebral male lead. The second was which fandom I would use to create a truly over-the-top harem. Mind you, I don’t think massive harems are really a good thing, but hey. But hopefully this exercise will show my take on a anime/world where a massive harem is sort of automatic, and Izuku as a cerebral male lead.

So this is an idea I wanted to share with you all as a kind of apology since I haven’t really embraced the discord thing since primordial vortex invited me.  Sorry all, but most of the time when I have free time, I am using it to write, and well, ADHD does not need help in distracting me. Anyway, this is based off two questions and a point one of my patreons brought up, a request for a non Ranma/HP story concept, a MASS harem fic, and a cerebral hero. So of course, I thought of this guy

My Heroic Fleet! (or My Naval Heroics)

The vast majority of people in the world of 2XXX have begun to be born with quirks, superpowers tied into the individual’s genetics much like old comics said mutant powers were supposed to be. So many people have been born with this power that the whole world has changed, some for the better, but not all. A world of shining heroes, deep shadows and violence between the two. This is the world that young Izuku Midoriya is born into. And unfortunately for him, he is born powerless. Quirkless in a society that revers quirks that can be used flashily for heroics and looks down on those who do not measure up. Truly, the nail that sticks out still gets hammered.

Izuku was always belittled, always put down by everyone around him. But not even his worst detractors could say that wasn’t intelligent. Indeed, Izuku’s ability to analyze things was so well known, even a few local street-level heroes asked him for advice… online anyway.

But for some reason, something odd has been happening, both within Izuku and in the world. Ships have been going missing the world over. Cargo ships, private yachts, even cruise vessels and a few military vessels, although few of those are still around. These disappearances have been going on for years, but it has gotten to the point where people are really wondering what is going on. Some new villain? A team of pirates with incredibly good combat/escape Quirks? No one knows, but more and more Heroes are being asked to switch to sea-faring operations than ever before.

At the same time, Izuku has been having strange dreams. Dreams of ships, walking the passages of warships, warships from the ancient World War II, which occurred centuries before the Dawn of quirks, so far in the past that few people even care to know about it at all, let alone be taught. And here Izuku is, dreaming in such detail of ships from that time. So much so, he has to question what is going on his head. Hoping for help, he talks to his mother about that ancient war, and she comes up with a shocking statement: that at one point, her great-freat-grandfather’s family name was Yamamoto.

Confusion abounds as with that name, Izuku starts to unlock still further memories, memories not just of ships, but of past battles, of strategies in naval warfare. None of which helped him much in his drive to be a hero, but which certainly mystify Izuku and Inko. And at least these strange dreams convince Izuku he needs to exercise and get into shape. After all, if Quirkless soldiers could be in shape, doesn’t that mean he should be too?

As Izuku starts to get into shape, his life continues to be a mix of utter crap and bullying, while the news grow darker. Now not just ships but heroes out at sea have begun to disappear. Odd fog has been seen throughout the world, radar starts to only work intermittently, and underwater cables are being cut across the world. And suddenly, Japan is faced with problems it has never faced since the dawn of Quirks, that of food and other supplies.

While this is going on, Izuku and his mother go on a day trip to one of the few remaining museums from that age, the ancient battleship {}, which has been kept in one piece for centuries even as quirks came into being. There, to Inko’s delight, Izuku makes a new friend in a rather elegant young woman, by the name of Yaoyorozu Momo. Surprisingly she has a interest in old warships, as her ancestor was a well-known captain during the ancient war.

However, during their exploration of the ancient ship old flagship, the port comes under attack. Not an attack by a villain, or at least not from the kind of villain that that Izuku has grown up analyzing. No, these villains comes from the depths and appear in the form of giant, vile looking cyborg creatures or mutated young women. Women and creatures with guns, cannons, torpedoes and a true Villain’s disdain for civilian casualties.

As the group on the {} watch, a battle occurs in the center of the port, with not even All Might proving enough to turn the tide. Bombs and cannon rounds land throughout the port and city of Tokyo. In the midst of this carnage, Izuku saves Momo’s life, is wounded in turn, and then… a miracle happens.

Strange devices, guns and bits of clothing appear on Momo without her using her Quirk. And somehow with their appearance, Momo gains the knowledge necessary to use them. With that and Izuku’s blood still splattered all over her, a furious Momo decides to fight back with very very big guns.

With that, Izuku’s fate and that of the world starts to change, because it turns out that Izuku has had Quirk all along. A Quirk to create ship girls, which is just the kind of Quirk that Japan needs. Now, if only Japan, the public safety commission, and villains throughout Japan would realize that too…

I know this is both a bit choppy and covers a large timeframe, but it gives you an idea of where the story would be going.

Regardless, things this story would contain:

(Should I ever get around to creating it. Probably an impossibility. Come on folks, I’ve got so many other stories to write!)

1. Noncombatant Izuku. Izuku will not be up front noncombatant, no matter how much he tries. And he will try several times, this is Izuku were talking about, the boy with such an amazing lack of self-worth to go with his heroic spirit that even Harry Potter would probably go, “I say, hold on there!” When Shirou of all people would see you as a kindred spirit it’s bad, Izuku.

a. Dream come true… sorta. Thanks to his new quirk, and with government backing to see if he can identify other girls with the Ship Girl gene, Izuku will go to UA. He will take classes in both heroics courses and support courses, along with Momo, his dutiful secretary ship/best friend as they learn more about her abilities. And of course, Bakuho will still be there.

b. Izuku does have a Quirk! As stated above, his Quirk is to awaken the shipgirls genome within other people. Girls, very obviously. This will be somewhat random, And will entail both chance, little flock on his side of things. Regardless, there will be some changes to the various characters.

c. Injured Izuku. Izuku will injure himself. Quite often, at least at first, until his first few shipgirls sit him down and smack Izuku upside the head enough times to get it through his very, very thick head, that the frontline is no place for an admiral, and they would rather he not hurt himself.

d. Extremely intelligent Izuku. The worst thing about the original (beyond Bakubrat and everything that’s happened since the end of the Save Eri arc) is the fact that Izuku doesn’t use his analysis ability consistently. At first you had this kid that was so intelligent and analytical he had whol notebooks full of information, then it was gone. Cast aside in favor of punching people. Izuku had to be reminded he had legs, for goodness sake!!! This will not be the case here. Izuku will continue to figure things out, to analyze, to plan his way through problems, and will learn that this power is its own Quirk.

2. Abyssal Warfare. I would use a mix of the Abyssals from Kancolle fame and the enemies from Azure Lane. From destroyer leader on up they will not be mindless monsters, but they will all be quite violent, and seeming here for one reason: to dominate the waves.

a. Unknown origins. The origins of the Abyssals will not be known for a very long while. Is it magical or technological? Alien or mythic? There will be cluse going in every direction here, and no one will know the answer for a long time

b. Abyssals are complex too. Some Abyssals will be much less violent than others, while a few will be psychopathic. A few will just have no desire to be around anyone. Some will be based on old WW ships, others older, some younger. Many will have no such connection to history. Lots will just be lashing out, a few working toward some unknown goal. Regardless, eventually some Abyssals (looking at Wanko and the Chibi) will turn on their fellows and join humanity.

c. Enterprise, as an abyssal. She will remember having been chopped to pieces by Americans after the war was over and have no love for any human. But the Abyss will be unable to control her either. Fueled by her victories, the dead within her, and the legends that abounded of her time in the war, the Grey Ghost will once more sail the Pacific, and woe betide any who comes close to her unless her heart be thawed once more....

3. World cut off. Eventually even satellite based communications will start to degrade, at which point, Japan and other island countries are going to have a very bad time of it.

a. Naval warfare. Eventually, Izuku and his harem/fleet will be forced to take the fight to the Abyssals or let Japan starve. This will be very tough, especially at first, and will push Izuku’s brain and the girl’s instincts, training and brawn to a massive level. But with every victory, the group will get stronger in various ways.

4. Slight UA bashing. While the little demon in charge will be able to flow sufficiently with the punches to understand the new dynamic of a world where the oceans at war against the abyssal’s, the majority of the teachers will not.

a. Aizawa bashing. Honestly, I can understand why people like him as a character and hero to a certain degree, but as an actual teacher, Aizawa is one the worst teachers in all of anime. And that is saying something. This might have changed after I stopped watching it, but up to that point, I can’t think of a single instance where Aizawa is actually teaching, certainly not when it comes to Izuku. How horrifying is that? And by teaching, I mean imparting knowledge and helping a student think his way through problems, or educating him on how to further his own intelligence or abilities. He also firmly believes in heroes needing to stand on their own, and no killing. So yeah, Aizawa gonna be bashed.

b. All Might is only Okay. He is not going to be the strongest hero on the block anymore. All Might will be one very few heroes able to fight Abyssals, but he’ll only be able to do so up close and personal. Out on the ocean, up close and personal is basically when you’re able to see the other ship with a spyglass. And while All Might will eventually get over this, Sir Creepy is not going to do so.

c. Midnight as a shipgirl. I am … uncertain which one, though I am leaning towards Ashigara the hungry wolf, but she would be one of only four Shipgirls to be awoken and not develop romantic feelings for Izuku.

i. Eri will be Hibiki. No doubt in my mind. The other two are a secret.

5. No All For One! He will have died in his duel with All Might. All Might will still have been injured, but the supervillain will have died out there. Alas, that doesn’t mean his legacy is gone…

a. Dr. Garaki, Scientist Supreme. Be it organizing the remnants of his former master’s empire or reaching out to the Abyssals, all that will matter to Garaki is his experiments to create the most powerful being possible. To horrifying results.

b. Shigaraki is still a wannabe NEET Emo. He will have been gathered in by ‘Sensei’ directly before AFO’s confrontation with All Might. Molded instead by Garaki and a few intelligent Nomu, he will still be as dangerous, but far more intelligent than in canon.

c. Cyborg Nomu. Without his master, Garaki will have been forced to go a different direction for his creations, and at first that will be robotics combined with genetics and body grafting. Later, it will include the aid of Abyssal knowledge and power, which is even worse.

6. What is worse Abyssals without or politics within? Unfortunately for Izuku and Japan in general the Hero Public Safety Commission will not be quite willing to move with the times. They will genuinely believe the Abyssals are simple quirk creations of some kind, and the villain behind them need to be found. Izuku will come under a lot of scrutiny having a similar Quirk to what they assume is behind the Abyssals, and the fact they all seem to fall for him will not make his time any easier, the government believing it is some kind of mind control.

a. Power plays. Izuku will be caught up in a lot of behind the scenes power struggles. While he and those he cares about will try their best, they will still need to deal with those in power.

b. Changing times. Now the the world has been reminded that Quirks aren’t everything, Izuku will, in a way become a symbol for change. Quirkless rights will start to be a thing, and people will no longer assume that just being popular means being right.  Conversely, this will lead to Ochako and a few other characters no longer needing to become heroes to use their quirks as well.

c. Enji is still an Aho. Endeavour will, while not being a villain, will still be a ultra-nationalist semi-abusive father. He will cause issues for Izuku, his son, and the fleet in general.

7. Shipgirl Harem. Come on, you knew it was coming. Here, I have only a few basic ideas of how I would take things – by which I mean how Izuku would have to unlock the Shipgirl gene in each, but I have several girls whose new powers/Shipgirl selves are kind of obvious to me.  The girls personalities will only slightly change, and at times only when they use their rigging, while their looks will change somewhat as well, in terms of becoming fitter, slightly like their Azur Lane/Kancolle selves in terms of clothing and bust size… which will be hilarious at times. There will also be a mix of different races, other shipgirls that will eventually come to Japan to get their ‘secondary quirks’ awoken by Izuku. And there will be a whole lot of lime/lemon content.

a. Momo is an obvious choice for Kancolle Yamato (although part of me is wondering if I shouldn’t play with making her more like Musashi instead…). With her powers, she should be able to create ammunition and oil and so forth so long as she gets fed enough. Although even there, her power really isn’t doing what she thinks it is, something that Izuku will be quick to realize. Momo will be the first girl, secretary ship and door warden for all other girls to enter the harem/fleet.

b. Kyoka – Azure Lane Atago. She will be very happy about some of the changes, and well, her sound-based power plus sword equals vibro-weapon.

c. Itsuka as Nagato. In fandom, Nagato is supposed to be a hard charging martial artist sort, so this makes sense to me.

d. Froppy as a submarine. Gentlemen, the most obvious of all connections. Whether or not I will have her personality change to… say, Iku, I think it would be hilarious to slowly change her attitudes to be like one of the lewdmarines

e. Nejire as Azur Lane Prinz Eugen. Just… yeah… I think that, and having Yuyu be Sharnhorst, would be hilarious. She’ll be the first to slip past the door warden into Izuku’s bed, and just won’t leave without a civil war.

f. Yui as Azur Lane Bismark. Again, this could be interesting. I don’t know why, I just think she fits a regal, stoic sort of ship.

g. Pony = Kancolle Iowa. Heck yeah, the American brings the guns.

h. Melissa Shield … uncertain. Either Azur Lane Hornet, or Kancolle Saratoga. And yes, she would be the first, and for a long time only carrier.

i. Hatsume Mei – Vestal from Azure Lane. I think her losing a lot of height and more than a bit of bust would be funny, as would her utter delight in her new abilities.

j. None of the other girls from canon will join the fleet harem. Gotta leave a few for the other guys, or else there’d be a revolt LOL.

k. It should go without saying but lots of lewding. Love, care, and everything that comes with it actually helps empower the shipgirls, so it’s a necessity, no matter how much it turns Izuku into a blushing mess.

Anyway, there you have it guys. Hope you liked this, even if it is just a thought experiment rather than any story I could see myself writing.

That said, the premise of Worm - how powers work, how the government handles it, the dynamic between heroes and villains, the power classification system especially - would be incredible to work with. It has a ton of potential for moving things around without seeming to mess with the overall focus or story too much if you want to, and I think you would definitely enjoy exploring that aspect of it given your past work I've read over the years.

Mike

And honestly, if you can stomach getting into Kuroinu at all, you can definitely handle Worm.

Friendly Neighborhood Eldritch Horror

I'm not sure how much I like the idea of a MHA Izuku with a Shipgirl harem thing. It doesn't seem like it would work out in terms of how his personality would interact with having a harem setup. I'd really like to see you do something with both Ranma and Harry in the same story. Some possibilities I could see: 1. Star Wars: I like the Star Wars crossovers of each of them quite a bit, this one could involve both Ranma and Harry somehow ending up in Star Wars together after some interdimensional portal shennanigans and heroics they stumble into, then wind up stranded together on some planet in Star Wars for a bit before finding civilization and discovering they're in a sci-fi level civilization spanning an entire galaxy. There might be some intention of returning home on one or both their parts initially, if they can find a way, possibly involving Force stuff when they find out about that or advanced science stuff, but they aren't finding anything that looks like it can do that any time soon. They stick together partly because they managed to make friends with each-other while surviving in the wilds after getting stranded in the SW universe on a random planet, and partly because of similar goals and both having outside perspectives on the Galaxy and trying to support each-other on stumbling through dealing with advanced technology and stuff and have someone to talk to who won't look down on them for not being familiar with Galactic culture and such. This would be an older Harry than the one from Magic of the Force, likely shortly after the pre-epilogue ending of book 7, but before he gets back with Ginny on Harry's part. Ranma would be some time after Saffron and the failed wedding, with some time for some bad fallout to have happened with the failed wedding that Ranma managed to stumble through with the consequences mostly being social, rather than anyone he cares about seriously hurt physically, but he'd have started to realize just how untenable the situation was, but was still thinking a solution would be stumbled into somehow and hadn't yet had a chance to really think things through from a more mature outlook. It has been enough time however, that he's worked out enough mastery of ki stuff to get over the need to use emotions to control the techniques (something he'd figured out to some degree before Saffron for the Body of Ice technique, able to do it without needing to be in a soul of ice state, otherwise he couldn't have kept up the power and precision and reliability needed for that battle with all the stress and worry about Akane and stuff). This helps him out in terms of stumbling into the Star Wars universe in order to avoid stumbling into the dark side when he starts interacting with the Force to some degree. Timeline would start some time before Episode One, possibly significantly before, but with some setup time for Harry and Ranma to adapt to the setting and build up connections, especially since they both age slower than normal, Harry due to wizard stuff and Ranma due to ki stuff. Perhaps rather than joining up with the Jedi as much as your other Star Wars stuff, they could wind up more of a pair of wandering troubleshooters who are officially more of traders or something, but closer to a heroic version of bounty hunters or smugglers in practical terms, they'd have sought out Jedi for help at some point seeking a way home, but possibly were disbelieved or distrusted or just told it was impossible and then had a disagreement about the use of their powers that the Jedi don't approve of but also know non-Jedi who at least aren't Sith aren't outright illegal, which rubs off badly and winds up with them not forming any close bonds with any Jedi initially, and see the Jedi more as stuffy monks or something initially. 2. Marvel Comics: Some kind of shennanigans happens with multiple dimensions and many-dimensional cosmic entities that Dr. Strange gets mixed up in. Relatively trustworthy and heroic champions are called in from a bunch of random worlds in the process by some of the powers involved, and Ranma and Harry are chosen from their worlds. Things go unstable in the aftermath, and due to Ranma and Harry being from entirely separate sections of the multiverse (rather than alternate Marvel worlds in the numbered system they have), Dr. Strange can't help them get home when they wind up stranded with him, so he winds up helping them get set up a bit in his world, and they quickly stumble into becoming super-heroes. Perhaps this could lead to takes on things like the Civil War or House of M or various other major storylines. 3. DC comics or animated or something: Trigon takes Ranma and Harry's worlds in rather destructive and horrific ways, with tons of tortured souls of the dead used for power and most of the survivors corrupted into warlocks and transformed demons and stuff and the places mostly destroyed or turned to horrible things in the service of Trigon. Ranma and Harry are both uncorrupted survivors who manage to join something of underground rebel groups of beings with a degree of power and resistance to corruption needed to avoid becoming monsters or dying in the process of what Trigon has done, who have been left alive partly out of amusement of some of the powerful demon servants involved to force them to struggle and suffer while being hunted and harassed and their numbers whittled away over time. The group has some limited ability to travel between worlds within Trigon's control, and strong enough leadership to keep some of the hotheads who aren't strong enough from dying trying to challenge Trigon directly just yet and convince them that Trigon really is that powerful and dangerous. They are some of the youngest/newest members of this group when stuff with Raven happens and Trigon suffers a real defeat, and are pushed by others in the group who see that Ranma and Harry still carry hope and such to wind up staying in the DC universe with Raven in the aftermath of events involved with Trigon mostly being ensured to be unable to take over the DC universe involved. Ranma and Harry both still want to one day avenge or somehow restore their own worlds, and weren't entirely willingly stranded in DC, rather than continuing to fight with the hidden rebellion (which is actually closer to demonic entertainment with no real hope of true resistance or effectiveness), but quickly wind up becoming heroes in the setting, and staying in relatively close contact with each-other due to shared experiences in various Hell dimensions. 4. Labyrinth Isekai original setting: Ranma and Harry are both banished with magic of sketchy origins by people who don't like their interference, Harry by some pureblood mad at the loss of the Death Eaters in the war, and Ranma by Mousse or Kuno or Gosunkugi or Happosai or someone. The banishment device/spell thingy is distributed by a sketchy group of god-class entities who created a labyrinth isekai type world for entertainment, and had their servants distribute the banishment devices across various worlds to baddies/jerks frustrated with heroes they couldn't defeat fairly. The world has a screwed up economy that is managed partly by the servants of the sketchy gods, which makes it hard to sustain supplies of normal goods or do things like large-scale farming reliably. Instead, the heroes banished to it are encouraged to go into various labyrinths filled with powerful monsters that when destroyed leave behind drops of normal goods and supplies like food and toilet paper, that they can sell or trade for other goods outside of the Labyrinths. A lot of the local 'heroes' aren't very nice, and their power levels vary wildly, but some heroes have developed enough organization to make sure people don't go into labyrinths too far beyond their skills or outside of their specific skillsets, and train them up in the basics, although this group is under-sized for it's job and over-worked. Ranma and Harry wind up pulled into the same 'class' of newly banished heroes, and early on needing to share rooming due to being unable to afford better, and then stumbling into being party members of the same party. 5. Marvel fusion: It's a fusion setting with both Ranma and Harry's worlds with Marvel stuff. On Harry's end, magic isn't quite as secret, wizards still keep their identity as wizards and population sizes largely secret from the mundane populace because of problems historically and regular issues with groups like Hydra, Hand, and various intelligence agencies and governments who want the magic user populace under their control. The wand-using type wizards that Harry is part of aren't the same as the sorcerers like Dr. Strange, relying mostly on inborn power rather than earthly or extradimensional power sources or potent mystical beings or the like, but their spells also don't work beyond Earth, because Earth's magical resonance flows provide the context that causes specific gestures and words to influence magic in specific ways. They'd have to rely on learning to turn their magic into simpler and more directly controlled psychic powers to use outside of their Earth in a controlled manner, or learn sorcery with outside entities helping control various effects in order to be effective in terms of leaving Earth and still being effective magic users. Sorcery lessons and lore is relatively restricted because calling upon the kind of entities that can power sorcery tends to not be something the average wizard can be trusted with, and some things have limitations on how much those entities can divide their attention/powers so they have finite numbers of users anyway, or various other restrictions/issues, so the average wizard isn't a potential candidate for positions like Sorcerer Supreme. On Ranma's end, some of the ki stuff in the Marvel side is powered up to match, with a bit of extra crossover stuff thrown into the fusion to help things make sense, including some elements of Street Fighter (given they've already had Marvel crossovers). People like Shang Chi and Iron Fist have been powered up to appropriate levels for their significance on the Marvel end of things compared to the Ranma/Street Fighter side of things. Ki stuff was somewhat involved in the 'Vita Rays' side of Captain America's power-up, although the groups trying to mimic the Super Soldier Serum often leave out that part, partly because nobody else knows how to produce 'vita-rays' or specifically how they related to stuff like ki besides the deceased Dr. Erksine and Howard Stark, and relatively few ki users are willing to work for that kind of super-soldier program, especially not many of the sketchier versions that still want their own super-soldiers but aren't willing to play ball in the same way with various ki users and their desires and feelings on the way things like ki work or should be used. Shadowloo is pretty much the group that gets closest to sort-of mass producing generic super-soldiers, and they're a bad-guy group, and the results haven't been as reliable as the likes of Captain America, and have occasionally turned on Shadowloo, and tend to start out relatively unstable. On the magic side of Ranma's stuff, Jusenkyo is a known thing, including the sale of Jusenkyo products in supernatural gray and black markets, and the sale of those products is part of what has kept other supernatural factions from contending too fiercely for trying to take control of the site, although the local factions like the Joketsuzoku and Musk and Phoenix people and the group that produces Jusenkyo products certainly are strong enough to play a role in keeping such rivals for the region's resources from taking it over by force or trying to siphon up the power of Mt. Jusendo or the Jusenkyo springs as some personal power source or for some massive ritual. The specific complex cursed nature of Jusenkyo helps as well, as it involves multiple types of magical aspects and traits that don't always blend well with the types of rituals involved, and it can take a lot of processing methods to turn Jusenkyo products into more generic types of magic energy sources or the like, so Jusenkyo has managed to remain largely independent, being too much effort to take over for relatively little benefit to the groups or individuals theoretically powerful enough to do so, especially when they can access it to some degree with just trade/money if they need stuff specific to Jusenkyo. Post failed wedding, Akane starts developing health problems related to what happened to her at Jusendo, being dehydrated and rehydrated, and Ranma has to look into the magical community for medical treatment for that, it's a bit hard for him to find contacts there for it, but Genma has worked in the past with Wolverine against Hand and Shadowloo, who he knows is involved in the super-hero community and has global connections, including probably some magical ones through the X-men, and puts Ranma in contact with Wolverine to seek out treatment for Akane. It isn't talked about over the phone because Genma is under the impression that is bad to do about magic, especially over international lines, and Genma has enough of a legal record internationally to be unable to easily travel overseas, with Soun having related issues due to his connections to Genma and Happosai, such that Ranma is the one who has to travel to the states to meet with Wolverine in person to explain the situation, since nobody they know how to contact locally can help Akane, at least long-term (they managed to track down a shinto shrine and Dr. Tofu to provide some treatments to slow down Akane's degredation and reduce her symptoms). Wolverine is a bit harder to contact than expected, even with Genma calling ahead, partly because he's so busy, so Ranma gets mixed up with a bit of X-men stuff before meeting with Wolverine, who goes through his contacts and winds up introducing Ranma to Agatha Harkness through the Fantastic Four who were contacted through the Avengers. Agatha is both a powerful witch of the Harry Potter type and a Sorceress, but has some things beyond either of those going on, although it's unclear what. She has enough contacts in the magical world to put Ranma into contact with Hogwarts, as it's probably the best bet for a research institution with advanced enough experts ina wide enough array of fields to potentially treat Akane's unique and weird issue a potions master like Slughorn and a charms master like Flitwick in particular are likely needed for the research process, and Hogwarts has one of the oldest and largest libraries when it comes to wizarding type magic. Ranma ends up with a letter of recommendation from Agatha Harkness to meet with a wizard or witch who brings them to the magical world and then to Hogwarts after being properly sworn to secrecy and made to understand the importance of keeping the wizarding society generally secret, and this is not long after the final battle of Hogwarts and Voldemort's true death. Harry is asked to be there for Ranma's arrival and presence, because McGonnagall understood a letter she got from Harkness to understand that Ranma is a powerful ki user, but didn't quite get an impression of Ranma's character from it, and is under the impression Ranma is a potentially powerful and dangerous individual beyond her to handle alone if surprised, and she knows Harry has very good reflexes, and she is managing the initial meeting with Ranma as the current Headmistress after Snape's death. Ranma clumsily explains the situation and his chain of references, and the untranslated info that he then has to clumsily somewhat try to translate from Dr. Tofu and the shrine, which they wind up calling in Hermione to help with the basic initial research of what the notes Ranma has mean and refer to in local contexts, while trying to prepare and plan for weather they're bringing Akane to the UK or sending someone(s) to Akane. Ranma winds up getting roped into joining Harry, Hermione, and Ron in going to Australia to restore Hermione's parents' memories. Their memories weren't really erased though it turns out, Hermione has actually manipulated her _own_ memories to _think_ she did it after talking with her parents, and not realize that she'd done so in case she were interrogated in a way designed to hopefully fool that interrogation, and it turns out they weren't even in Australia, but the US, and visiting Australia to restore their memories was actually the trigger to unlock Hermione's sealed memories and find out that her parents were really in the US. Ranma and Harry wind up going to Japan to get Akane while Hermione and Ron head to the US to bring them all to the UK, with Harry's celebrity status in the magical world being used to convince the Japanese witches and wizards to allow and help with the safe transport of Akane as a patient, as McGonagall managed to confirm with Mahoutokorou that they aren't up to handling Akane's situation, although are able to better translate the notes from Dr. Tofu and the shrine. Shampoo doesn't trust all of this isn't some attempt by Ranma to elope with Akane and tries to sneak along just in case to stop such, almost causing a serious international incident by trying to smuggle herself along to the UK and some of the threats and complaints she makes when caught, but is subdued by a combination of Ranma and the present magicals including Harry, and sent magically back to Cologne to prevent her from potentially interfering with Akane's treatment. It is soon determined that it'll take almost a year for Akane's treatment to work as far as their best plans for a likely successful one go, which complicates things, especially since Akane is soon determined to not be trustworthy about keeping the magical world properly secret and not messing with it too much through the methods they usually use for muggleborn family members and non-magical spouses, at least by the standards of Mahoutokorou, similar with the Tendo family, which complicates the situation with her treatment, especially long term, and they have to modify some of the memories right away of the other Tendos, especially Nabiki, and keep Akane somewhat contained and monitored and modify her memories after her treatment is over too, because she won't be able to keep things properly secret from her sisters. Ranma isn't happy about it, but is convinced that Akane and the Tendos really aren't trustworthy enough for this, which is a hard pill for him to swallow and has him start questioning his marriage prospects more seriously than previously. Ranma and Harry then stumble into a super-hero vs. super-villain type incident in the UK, Harry playing at being a sorcerer and/or magic item user rather than a wizard to fool some of the intelligence agencies and criminal organizations and the like that hunt the wizarding society in the public actions he stumbles into. Ranma winds up interviewed by Interpol in the aftermath, and warned not to follow in the footsteps of his father or Happosai if he wants to keep traveling internationally and avoid being hunted down by them, and given the suggestion that if he stays on the straight and narrow, relatively speaking, they might like recruiting him at some point and he should consider joining up because he has valuable skills for that sort of thing. Harry gets a bit chewed out by concerned people in the ministry and ICW and some others who care for him and are worried about him getting in trouble with wizarding society laws, since he seriously skirted them during the incident. Not sure how exactly it might go from there, but at that point, Ranma and Harry would start stumbling more into the world of super-heroes due to Harry's 'saving people thing' and Ranma's perspective on a martial artists' duty, and wind up friends due to early work together, possibly going on the run together for a while due to Harry trying to get away from his fame for a bit and Ranma trying to dodge marriage pressure for a while, and they'd stumble into more heroics along the way.

Worm or Sailor Moon would be great HP crossovers ideas. Darth Marrs has a great HP/Worm crossover but his stories always end on a somber note. Worm especially has a whole lot of issues with its world that a MoD HP could potentially help with. Plus Taylor just needs some love. Long Live the Queen of Escalation!

I do have a SM/HP story idea somewhere around here. Worm is a fandom a lot of people have commented, but I have not gotten into because it is supposedly very grim-dark. Which I am not into beyond Warhammer40K. And even then, my favorites are the Ciaphas Cain novels LOL.

Worm is really, really dark (and its sequel is even worse). I'm unable to read it complete and I have tried thrice times. Also, one of my favorite HP writers started to write Worm fics and he/she never returned to HP. That really hurts, lol.
