And Now More Inquiries (Patreon)

Hey all. Fate Touched is off to Nad Destroyer for editing, and I have begun work turning 7,000 words worth of notes into the next Magic of the Force chapter. So it is time to start the next round of questions I mentioned a few times before. Once more, I would like to thank everyone who gave me their opinions on those questions. It was a lot of help, especially the question about Sairaorg, and Novus’s immense help in painting a picture of Egypt in modern times for me. That allowed me to make several decisions I had to make about the next chapters of FILFY.
Now on to the new questions:
First, Stallion of the line
1. I am having a problem with Logia powers. I understand very well how various logia users can fight normal people, that’s easy. But what about elements that aren’t the exact opposite of one another? Light versus sand? Ice versus Sand? Light versus Ice? Lightning vs Magma? I just don’t know. So I am wondering if in some ways, logia users would find their powers entirely canceled out by one another, and forced to resort to other skills, or less direct means of using their power. For example, light melting the sand? Or Ice covering the sand and freezing it, shattering it into chunks? Would that even hurt a Sand Sand User? I just don’t know, and would like everyone’s opinion on this one.
2. And now for a weird one. I had Urd tweak things with Ivankov’s power so that Ranma kept his curse. If/when they meet up, and after Ranma gets done pummeling him, should Ivankov’s hormone-hormone fruit be able to cancel his curse back out? - I can come up with an explanation, I’m just wondering if that would be hilarious/interesting enough to do?
3. Should I include an arc dealing with Shiki the Lion? – I love some of the fights and his Devil Fruit, but…. I’ve already dipped twice into the whole ‘stealing a defeated opponent’s DF’ so I am not certain it would serve any purpose. I could use it during the timeskip (yes, it will happen, several of the crew need training before they enter the New World) but I am uncertain.
FILFy Teacher:
1. This is a magic type question. Should Harry, as King of Danan, be able to temporarily connect on of Danan's ley-lines to Yasaka so she can travel there freely? Or is that too serendipitous/good to be true/easy?
2. Should Rias or one of the other ladies (Not Akeno, I already have plan there) gain a power-up from somewhere in Danan? Some item on the level of a Sacred Gear or other? Or should I stick to transfer of knowledge instead of power?
3. Are Sirzechs and Grayfia interesting enough characters that I should write out their investigations in Greece and their attempts to storm Hades (the realm and the god), or just report on the outcome? Or, conversely, put it in later as a flashback?
Magic of the Force:
1. I need the name of a class of Corellian heavy cruiser – by which I mean the same size/type of combatant as a katana class – that was produced during or prior to the Clone Wars. Yes, the classification of SW capital ships are all over the place. Barring an actual type, what would be the name of such a class of ship?
2. Was it ever mentioned who at Kuat Drive Yards developed the Lancer-class Frigate?
3. Is Ahsoka at 16 (yes I aged her up) too young to consider adding into the multi-relationship around Harry and Aayla? - Regardless there will be trouble with her padawan bond to Harry and his bond with Aayla, but I am just wondering.
4. Is Savage Oppress an interesting enough character to introduce in the distant future with Maul dead many times over?
5. I would like the name of 5 Jedi who could reasonably have been seen to be lured to the Dark Side during the Clone Wars. I want to add to Dominus’s Dark Acolytes beyond those in canon.
5. And now for the biggie: My take on Sidious has always been that beyond his abilities to use the Veil of the Force and hide himself so well, Sidious was most dangerous for three things:
a. His political acumen. Remember in canon he declared himself emperor and every Senator cheered him – and this wasn’t just because they were scared. By the end of the war he really was that popular.
b. His mastery of multitasking. I mean he was at the head of a conspiracy that spanned from one side of a million planet polity to the other. Even though the Sith had set the foundation of that for a thousand years, he was still the one making all the decisions when it came to it.
c. His ability to roll with the punches. His ability to adapt events, even those he didn’t see coming through the Force and use them to better his position or the Great Plan.
In Horse I have played more than a little bit with the last two (it’s not easy to juggle when one of the balls insists on turning into a chainsaw randomly). In Horse, I haven’t quite done so just yet, not to the same extent as in Horse. However, more blows are coming, several of them very important to the Great Plan, such as his discovering the Jedi’s mass evacuation. So my question is, have I overplayed Sidious’s ability to roll with the punches so far? Or should the punches, especially that one, start to tell?
Bhaalson Remodel, the first of which are only for those who have played the original:
1. After the last chapter, I think that Edwin needs a friend. So I was thinking of introducing Alora in Gullykin. Problem is, I have never played with her. I know that she has a lot of dialogue with him, and would like to build on that, so if anyone could help me there, that would be great. And is it true that she and Dynaheir don’t get along solely due to Alora befriending Edwin? Harsh.
2. I want to hurry and introduce Viconia, but I cannot remember if there was a reason why she was out in the boonies east of the Friendly Arm Inn. Was there?
3. Now onto the questions everyone who has read the fic can answer. First, What did you all think of the upgrades available to Harry due to his Tactics skill leveling up? Lame, good, meh?
4. Warhammer or longsword for Harry’s preferred weapon? This will impact the loot they find if I can swing it.
5. Does everyone like the way I am treating the Character sheets in this work? Or should I provide more information – like showing the life skills, the percentage skills and so forth. For Imoen as a thief these are really important going forward, so I am wondering.
And finally, the Anime Addventure Homage posts.
I just would like to know your thoughts about them. Do you like them and did they assuage my Ranma fans for how much HP took over this month? Conversely to you hate them and if so, why? And before anyone says they take time away from the rest of my writing the last post was, what 5,000 words? I wrote that in a little under two hours without the use of Dragon Naturally Speaking. For some reason building on the original Addventure posts is really easy.
