Patron Only Teaser Chapter Poll (Patreon)

Yo, all. I have to apologize for getting this out today rather than yesterday, but I was trying desperately, and rather foolishly, to get the battle that should have been part of GDWHOM11 out with the rest of the chapter. As those who read the chapter I posted no, this was indeed futile, as the combat section just wasn’t up to my standards. Yes, those standards are high. Anyone complaining? LOL. 

Anyway, the three choices shown here are stories whose first chapters are fully outlined.  Beyond that, I took away the choices that would require too much world building and thereby demand larger chapters. On top of that, I took away the Ranma/MHA crossovers, since I have begun work on the first chapter of Heroes of the High Seas already, and that will tell me if I can actually write Izuku and company. I also did not include my Ranma/DC crossover concept. Sorry guys and girls, but since I know that one would be really popular and time consuming at least at first, I am not willing to try and write up a teaser chapter for it before ATP is finished, or two of any of my other stories, whichever comes first. 

And yes HP fans, sorry they are all Ranma fics. Harry Potter has taken the lead in the past two months, but I refuse to forget that I got my start in Ranma, and that my oldest fans came to me through that fandom. 

You will also note that this is an actual poll post rather than my normal use of a thread, wherein all of you would have to tell me your choices. Recently Patreon has begun to allow me to download the results of a poll with more information about the voters, which will in turn let me go back and weigh (connect the voter to their donation) accordingly. So unless you want to vote for more than one you won't hae to actually post your choices, simply choose one of the choices below.  This should make things easier for everyone.

Each choice will also have a link to the thread where I first introduced them under the brief summary, so you all can make a more informed decision my friends.

The choices are:

1. Horse Finding Heaven (second Ranma/Kasumi concept on the below link) – a straight Ranma fic: 

Furious at Nabiki’s attempt to sell off his time to Ukyo after Akane had in turn handed Ranma over to Nabiki like some kind of parcel, Ranma loses it and leaves Nabiki to the tender mercies of the others, though he does shout out that he expects Ukyo and Shampoo to act like proper martial artists and not hurt the weak one. After much sulking and comparing the two younger Tendo sisters, he remembers that when he arrived, he was given the choice, of which daughter to marry, but never did make that choice. 

This immediately leads into a long and rather uncomfortable discussion with Kasumi, ending with everyone coming home and making a mess of things that ends with Ranma throwing down an ultimatum. He has tried to go out with two of the three girls, now he wants to try to go out with Kasumi. If that’s not acceptable, he can walk out the door. Seeing Ranma unconcerned by the shouts and histrionics this statement creates, a somewhat dismayed Kasumi puts out her own ultimatums. 

After much back and forth, Ranma agrees to bring his grades up, no longer insult anyone in the family, and to read books that can teach him about romance, with Kasumi’s help. Kasumi in turn accedes to learning the Art from him, and the two decide to see if they can make a go of it. And so, the first boulder starts down the mountain…

2. Climbing Together – a Ranma/various fighting games crossover: 

Sometime after leaving the Amazons after more than a week of travelling without food and now dealing with the rain, Ranma and Genma seek shelter in a cave. There Shampoo finds them, equally soaked and miserable despite having finally escaped her village to see the world. Ranma, seeing an opportunity, talks her out of attacking the redhead. The two of them instead agree to share the cave over Genma’s objections and settle their argument with three martial arts matches. The rain continues to pound down for days, trapping them in the cave and forcing them to work together to hunt and cook, with Genma used as a wind breaker most of the time. During the third match, Genma coldcocks Shampoo and rushes off with Ranma. Incensed by this dishonorable act, Shampoo goes after them, but thanks to the rain can’t track them, and only find news of them in Japan months later. 

Meanwhile, Ranma has been getting fed up with life in Nerima, frustrated at the fact that none of the three Tendo sisters are working out and that he has stopped growing as a martial artist, with his old man only sparring with him for a few minutes in the morning. Shampoo shows up as in canon, but after finding out Ranma is a man, things go differently with both of them enjoying the kiss of marriage a little too much much to the chagrin of the onlookers. 

Later on, the two would-be friends meet up and talk, with a few apologies going both ways before Ranma decides that Shampoo’s right, the Tendo school might as well not exist, so there’s no honor debt. And with his old man happy to stay there and laze about, Ranma can just… leave. Shampoo agrees with this, and the two of them decide to leave together, eager to see what martial artists and fights they can find out there in the wide world.

3. An Aunt’s Touch a Ranma 1/2 and HOTD crossover:

While drunk off his gourd after dealing with the onset of his son’s puberty Genma instead of using the Penitent Monk technique (used in several of my other fics to explain Ranma’s lack of libido) attempts to put the boy through the neko-ken again. This ends with Genma badly mauled and Ranma escaping to be found by a wondering policeman sleeping under a bridge. Unable to find his father, the police look through the government’s computer system  and find out that his mother is off the grid in an attempt to dodge debtors looking for her husband. They also find Genma had a sister who changed her last name and is one of their own: Rika Minami. 

Enraged at what Ranma tells her about his training Rika gets legal custody of Ranma, who is happy to have another relative and thinks his policewoman aunt is the coolest person ever. Rika in turn thinks Genma was insane, but that the boy has a lot of potential. Once he discovers all this, Genma is furious at his mealtick…son escaping, and tried to devise various plans to get him back, while Rika and her life-partner Shizuka do the best they can to raise a young eleven year old boy. 

They both have their hands full trying to solve the various issues Genma has already ‘programed’ into Ranma: lack of knowledge, social cluelessness and other things.  But they persevere, and eventually drill into his head that he needs to have some education. They eventually send him to Fujimi Academy, which has a middle and high school and where her live-in lover can look after the boy. “After all Shizuka already treats the boy like a living teddy bear already, and he practically dotes on her so…” And from there, the interaction with the rest of the HOTD crew and canon begin.
