Belated June 2024 Patron Poll Results (Patreon)

Howdy all.  Once more the rule is proven, Grammarlying my chapter segments daily reaaallly slows me down.  And I lost four days due to Family Life stuff.  But FILFy is finished and off to the first beta reader… only 10,000 more words than I had wanted it to be this time too.

Anyway, it is time to move on… but first, a minor rant.  The Acolyte sucks.  That is all.  One actor, the squid game guy is really good (he learned English for this roll, folks,  MAD props), the rest suck. They kill off the best female actor in the thing in the first episode in a fight that was… I would quit writing fanfic if I ever wrote a fight scene that bad and thought it was good. I watched it with my brother (like hell I’m giving Disney money), and it was so bad we had to turn it off half-way through the second episode and watch Farscape to cleanse our palettes.  I could go on a multi-page rant, but I won’t, it would be a waste of time.  Just realize that I have not, nor will I ever use anything from any SW ‘lore’ that Disney has attempted to create.

…Sorry… just had to get that off my chest a tiny bit.

Now, onto the poll. Not gonna sugar coat it, either.   Now, since this was the first patron only vote after we had the discussion on the future of the carry-over effect, I decided to not use the carry-over effect.  It would have been overkill in any event…

In third place, which is becoming a theme when I’m not voting for it, is Heroes of the High Seas, with 881.

A somewhat decent showing put Climbing Together in second place, 1,395.

A distant second, though, with King of Champions (which was the fic that has gone the longest without being updated) bringing in 1,908.  Flawless victory.

Gonna be interesting finally writing up the conversation between Ozpin and Harry.  One is slow to trust, the other very wary of trusting at all, both have secrets, but are they willing to share?  Will one of them bend hoping the other will?  Who? Can they?  It is going to be interesting to see.

I will end the Ranma poll on the 19th as planned, and the HP poll too.  It probably won’t reflect where I am in terms of finishing stories, but there you are.  I think I can cut the chapter length of the Ranma and HP winners a bit without losing anything – there are other good stopping points I mean.
