Chapter 213: The Slime

"She is taking too long…" Said the samurai with worry.

"Tsk!, Cutting them just makes things worse." Zoro spat with anger.

The group was surrounded by many small slimes. The creatures got closer and closer while destroying everything in their path.

"Ahh!" Cried the samurai. 

"Something has bitten me!".

"What is she doing down there?, We need to leave!" Said Zoro.

"This is bad, the whole surface of the lake has been covered by that purple substance." Chopper(Sanji) looked very much worried.

A loud splashing noise was heard as Tashigi(Vivi) came flying out of the water while holding a torso with one hand.

"Huffh!, That was a close one! I thought the shark was going to eat him for lunch."

She looked down as she was descending and saw the group surrounded by the poisonous slimes.

"Well, that doesn't look good."

"My body!" Cried the samurai.

Zoro and Chopper(Sanji) quickly put the pieces of the samurai back together while she got dressed again.

"I have my body back! I have never been so happy!" The man was crying.

He looked at the Strawhats with a wide smile.

"I owe you so much, pirates." His eyes moved to Vivi.

"Especially you, woman. I will buy you a dress or some jewelry when I get the chance, you have my word. Ohh, where are my manners?"

Tashigi(Vivi) raised an eyebrow, looking very displeased.

"I don't know,  I was wondering that…"

He ignored her words and Chopper's (Sanji) angry stare.

"Those slimes are multiplying and turning into a goo…" Said Zoro.

"I have yet to introduce myself. My name is Kinemon. My birthplace is Kuni, in the country of Wano. " He smiled.

"I think they are trying to surround us." Said Zoro again.

"What are the names of my saviors? I will engrave them in my heart for all eternity!. You have my word as a samurai tha-"

"Can we do this later?!, We are surrounded by that slime thingy." Tashigi(Vivi) requested.

"Yeah, I was trying to tell you guys about it…" Zoro muttered.

"Come on, do something about it instead of starting at it" Shouted Chopper(Sanji).

"I already tried to cut it down and didn't work!" He looked at Sanji like saying 'What else do you want me to do?'.

"Perhaps fire will work." Kinemon unsheathed his sword and walked towards the purple goo.

"Fire?...wait," Tashigi said, trying to recall something. Without her powers, her memories of distant events were very hazy but she seemed to recall something about fire and this creature.

"They used to call me Fox-Fire Kinemon during my younger days. My sword is capable of burning my enemies down without problems."

"Okay, go ahead and burn those things down!" Chopper(Sanji) encouraged the samurai.

"Take this!"

His blazing sword made contact with one of the slime and this one caught on fire immediately.

Tashigi(Vivi) gasped.

"Oh, I remember now, they expl- "

"Boom!"

A fiery explosion covered the entire area. 

Once it cleared out, the group of four, found themselves standing in the same spot, seemingly unharmed.

"We are alive right?" She asked while looking around. The Purple creatures were nowhere to be found and there were flames everywhere.

"It sure isn't heaven." Chopper(Sanji) looked to his side.

"This guy is here."

"It could be hell, with all the flames, and you being here doesn't help," Zoro smirked.

"Good, the path is clear. Now I can go find Momonosuke!" Said the samurai.

"What happened though? I was sure we exploded." Asked Tashigi(Vivi).

"Ah yes…that took me by surprise. I didn't expect them to explode. However, I cut the explosion as well." Kinemon said with pride.

"You cut the explosion?" Asked Chooper(Vivi) with doubt.

"Indeed, my Fire-Fox style burns and cuts with fire. Is a power that can tear through any type of flame. There is no fire that I can't cut!" he declared.

"Oh?." Zoro looked at him with interest.

"Very well, I'll go with you on this rescue mission. I want to learn more about these samurai."

"Really?, You have all done so much for me already, Would you help me find my son too?" Kinemon asked.

"Don't take it as an act of kindness, he has his own reasons. But I suppose we can help you a bit more. Is not like we aren't already involved with what is happening on this island." Said Tashigi(Vivi)

They then started to hear strange noises all around them.

"What is going on?" 

All around them were more pieces of the slime and they were all moving towards the same spot, joining into a giant mass of purple goo.

"The ones that got destroyed in the explosion must have been  just a small part of the creature." Concluded Tashigi(Vivi).

Before it could be completely reformed, the group took off running.

The half-formed slime made a screeching noise and started to pursue them.

"He coming straight for us!" Zoro looked back.

"He looks very angry!" Observed Tashigi(Vivi).

"I don't think he liked us blowing up all those small slimes!" Said Chopper(Sanji).

"Is it like their parent?... I'm sorry but they let us no other choice." Said Kinemon with regret.

"Look, it's changing shape!" She pointed at the slime. This one now looked more like some sort of lizard.

"Is also getting faster!". Chopper(Sanji) was pushing his little legs to their limit.

"We can only run for now. This one is too big to burn, the explosion would surely kill us this time." Exclaimed Kinemon.

"We must stick together and go to the lab. Then…where is the swordsman?"

They looked around and saw Zoro running in a different direction.

"Damn it!, Not now!" Tashigi(Vivi) used her movement technique to reach him.

Zoro turned his head and looked at her.

"Oh, for a moment I thought you all got lost. Good, let's go."
