Chapter 209: Candy

"That's right! They were all abandoned and left here to die. The men took refuge in the last standing facility. But the long exposure to the gas had started to a toll on them. They soon found themselves unable to move their legs and we were all becoming weaker with every day that passed. It was a matter of time before they died…"

Brownbeard expression changed and he now was smiling.

"It was them that the Master appeared on the island. He is an amazing scientist and found a way to save them all! "

"Oh…this Master doesn't sound that bad then." Said Luffy, who currently had a bandage around his head after Chopper was done fixing him.

"I landed on this island two years ago. The gas was still around and it affected me immediately. I thought I was done for… that's when I was found by the other prisoners who, like me, had lost their legs. Their Master then appeared...he saved my life out of the kindness of his heart. And a few months back, another savior came to the island. Trafalgar Law, who had just gained his title of shichibukai came here to work with the Master. He used his ability to give us new legs. The legs of living animals. We never thought we would walk again..." The man was in tears now.

"What a moving story!" Cried Luffy.

"I know, right?" Exclaimed Usopp.

"So this Trafalgar guy is not such a bad guy. " Said Brook.

"In any case." Brownbeard looked at them with a serious expression.

"You know understand who rules this island. No one dares to come to this island because it belongs to our Master."

A smile was drawn on his face.

"You may rejoice!. Our Master continues his research for the betterment of humanity and now your bodies will be put to good use in order to help his work."

"Wait, this Master wants to use us as guinea pigs for his experiments? no way!" Shouted Usopp.

"No one is going to use me for experiments!" Shouted Buggy.

When finished listening to their conversation, Tashigi(Vivi), noticed the fact that the samurai was missing.

"Has anyone seen Mister Samurai?" She asked.

"Yes, he left after I mentioned encountering a strange torso wielding a sword. " Answered Robin.

"And you left him go alone?, is just a head with some legs." said Vivi(Nami)

"I didn't think it was my responsibility to stop him. He is an adult man…well…head." Robin frowned.

"I'll go look for him, which direction did he go?" Chopper(Sanji) prepared to go.

"Wait, where are you taking my body?" Complained Nami(Chopper).

"This is still confusing, maybe I should have made some signs or something." Usopp held his head.

Zoro sighed.

"Dont worry, I'll go with the shitty cook to make sure he doesn't break your body."

He assured Chopper.

Tashigi(Vivi) looked at them.

"I'll go with you two. I can track him down with haki and I cannot trust that you two will not start fighting each other after the first disagreement."

"Luffy,  we are going to look for that samurai. Is that okay?" Chopper(Sanji) said.

"Yeah, sure!" Their Captain did not seem to care one bit.

"Can you still use your haki in that body?" Asked Zoro after they walked for a bit.

"I can't enhance it to reach the entire island but yes, I can use it." She answered.

"So, you will know once we get close enough?." Asked Chopper(Sanji) and she nodded.

Back at the camp, ten minutes later.

"Arggg!" One of the giant children fell down, groaning in pain.

"Sind? what's wrong?" A girl next to him asked.

"It hurts!" the kid screamed. 

"Chopper, quick,  do something!" Luffy exclaimed.

Before Nami(Chopper) could do anything, the other giant kids fell down in the same way. They all started to moan in pain.

"It hurts!"

"Ahhh!"

"Only the big ones seem to be in pain." Sanji(Franky) pointed out.

"Chopper, you examined them earlier, did you not find anything about this disease they have?" Asked Vivi(Nami).

He approached one of the kids.

"Tell me, what do you normally do, do they give you something?"

"The blonde kid named Sind responded with difficulty.

"Normally?...we get examined and then we get a candy…"

"Candy?, that's it?" Nami(Chopper) asked with suspicion.

"Yeah, tastes a bit funny at first, but is really good!" Said another kid.

"When I eat it…I always feel happy when I eat it…" Said Sind.

"Do you have some of that candy, miss?" Asked one of the giant kids, his face becoming slightly twisted.

The expression on Nami(Chooper) turned grave after hearing this.

He went back to his improvised lab where he was examining some samples of blood. He took a sample from that same blonde child and did some quick tests.

"Vivi was right…those kids aren't sick!" Shooutd Nami.

"What are you on about?" Questioned Brownbeard.

"I usually patrol outside so I don't know much of what happens in the lab, but those kids are very ill. Our kind Master went out of his way to get them from the surrounding islands and brought them here to help them. He is a loving scientist."

He looked at the children grunting in pain and frowned.

"Look!, This proves that if the kids don't go back to the facility and get their medicine, they will be in pain. I told you but you dint-"

"Shut the fuck up!" The swearing and rage coming from Nami(Chopper) took them all by surprise and stared at him in shock. 

"Did you find out what's wrong with them?" Asked Robin.

Nami(Chopper) held a vial up. It had a liquid with a  bluish color.

"I found traces of NC1HO...this is a very potent stimulant drug. Doctorine and I had used it on very limited occasions due to…due to its addicting properties."

"Are you saying what I think you are saying?" Asked Vivi(Nami).

"Those kids have been given small doses every day for over a year. So they have become extremely addicted to it. They are in pain because they are in withdrawal from the drug." Explained Nami(Chopper).

"He made the kids addicts so they won't run away or something?" Wondered Sanji(Franky)

"Well that's mess up…and I have done my fair share of evil deeds…" Said Buggy with disgust.

Nami(Chopper) looked at Brownbeard.

"What does he want with the kids?"
