Chapter 175: The guest

Seeing that everyone was staring at him with weird expressions, the clown was starting to feel awkward.

"So…is there no breakfast?" He finally asked.

"Is mid-day already…" Said Vivi. She was the only one looking amused by the situation.

"Oh…well lunch then!" Exclaimed Buggy.

"What the heck are you doing in our ship" Shouted Sanji.

Buggy looked around and his drowsiness seemed to go down a bit.

"That's right!. I remember now. Las night, things were getting too noisy and was ruining my buzz so I came to this to relax and I must have fallen asleep. My bad, hehe".

They all started in disbelief at the clown, who was looking very relaxed, sitting at their table.

"Well…shit," Zoro said.

Buggy did not understand why they looked so upset. And now he was starting to feel offended.

"You don't have to worry, I'll get out of your hair soon enough. When are arriving at Shabondy anyway?."

"We are not going back to Shabondy…" Nami started. 

Vivi covered her mouth to stop the chuckle.

"What?!" Exclaimed Buggy with surprise.

"Then where are we going…where are we?!" He demanded to know, his hangover forgotten already.

"You may want to go outside and check for yourself" Robin advised in a calm manner.

Buggy stood up and ran out of the dining room, direction to the main deck of the ship.

"So…he is stuck with us now, huh?" Said Nami.

"Is he going to join the crew?" Asked chopper.

"No!" Was Luffy's immediate answer.

"Noooooo!" The yells of agony from the clown the be clearly heard in the room.

"Hahaha!" Vivi could not take it anymore and started laughing. 

"I can't believe how unlucky this clown is!"

"How can I be this unlucky?..." Lamented Buggy. After an hour of cursing and screaming, he finally was resigned to his fate.

"Come on, is going to be okay" Chopper tried to cheer him up.

"Of all of the ships where I could have gone…I had to choose this one" He said with despair.

"I went from being locked in Impel Down to being locked in this ship."

"Oi!. Don't compare by beautiful ship with that prison " Franki took offense at the comment.

"Well, Is not like you have much of a choice now." Said Zoro, who sitting close by while drinking from a bottle.

"And is not as dangerous as you think" Added Nami.

"Sea King!" The loud and panicked voice of Usoop was heard.

Zoro sighed and put down his bottle of sake.

"I'll take care of it"

He jumped out of the bubble and started fighting the monster that looked like a mix between a lion and a seal.

“See? There is nothing to fear.” Told Vivi to the clown. “As long as we have our monster swordsman, he will take care of any scary monsters that try to destroy the ship.” 

“You are as much of a monster as him!” Shouted Buggy. But then watched as Zoro cut the sea monster into pieces and calmed himself a bit.

“Meat!” Luffy extended his arms and started to catch big chunks of the sea creature and bring them to the ship.

Sanji rolled up his sleeves.

“It seems like I have work to do.”

“How far do you think we’ve come?” Asked Luffy. 

They have been traveling for over a day now but it was becoming hard to tell the time while deep underwater.

“The light from the surface is barely even reaching us now…” Said Usopp.

“We are past the ‘sunlight stratum’ so we must be over 10000 meters down” Commented Franky.

“Is so quiet here, this feels completely different from riding the submarine, is almost like flying.” Said Robin with a smile.

“Ahh!, there are more monsters over there!” Shouted Buggy while pointing up.

A group of colossal creatures were floating above them.

“Those are whales, you moron!” Vivi smacked the clown in the head.

“Whales!, so cool!” Exclaimed Chopper.

“Laboon!” Added Brook.

Usopp looked down at the log pose that Nami was wearing and realized something. “Aren't we going in a different direction than the one pointed by the needle?”

“No, it's fine. Traveling slightly to the southwest of where the log pose points is the best route.” The Navigator assured them.

“Why?, won't it be quicker to go in a straight line?” Asked Luffy.

“It will be quicker but we will get caught in the currents and be smashed against mountains and volcanoes…”

“What?!, there are volcanoes down here too!?. The sea is scary!“ Realized Chopper.

“But the currents in the Grand Line are unpredictable, how can you be so sure this route is safe?” Asked Buggy.

“There are many undersea currents, and most of them will lead to your demise, but there are ways to identify the ones that go the way you want to go. Let's see…” Nami proceed to spend the next fifteen minutes going on a long and dragged explanation about the way underwater currents function and how you could identify the correct one by measuring the temperature of the water as well as other factors.

In the end, most of the crew was left baffled.

“I see…” Said Luffy even though he obviously understood nothing.

“So…” Started Zoro.

“They are mystery currents then!” Exclaimed Usopp.

“Yep!” Said Chopper.

“Mistery currents indeed!” Buggy walked away.

“Why did you even ask then!. Just let me handle these things and don't bother me again!” Shouted an enraged Nami.

“Care for a song, Nami?” Offered Brook.
