Chapter 76: The next objective

“It doesn't say anything about the Franky family or the Galley-La employees.” Sanji was reading the article in the newspaper about the attack on Enies Lobby.

“That is strange. They made quite a mess there.” Added Nami.

“Luffy, do you think your grandpa tweaked the info about what happened there to protect those guys?” Asked Sanji.

“No way!, my grampa doesn't pay attention to details like that,” said Luffy.

“Well, at least is good news for them. Otherwise, they would become fugitives.” Said Vivi.

“Yes, but they did write some terrible things about us.” Zoro pointed out.

“It says that we declared war against the World Government and that we are the reason the island was burned down.”

“We DID declare war against the World Government when Usopp burned that flag. And, we are the reason the Buster Call was used even if we didn't burn the island ourselves.” Vivi said.

“Fine…” Zoro conceded. A smile appeared on his face moments later. “This at least means that our bounties will rise again.”

“They will definitely give me a great bounty now! After all, it was the Hero Usopp the one who burned down the evil government flag!” Said Usopp with a smug smile.

“Oh!, I wonder if they will give me a bounty now.” Said Chopper with excitement.

“Is possible. But mine would be problematic if they say something like a superstar appeared!’.” Said Sanji.

“I wonder what bounty they would give me.” Vivi pondered. 

‘They definitely know that it was me who killed Spandam. Not sure if they could find out about the meatball and wolfie.’

“You guys shouldn't be happy about this! Are you guys idiots? A high bounty is not a good thing! ” Nami was infuriated by their reaction.

“So, Franky is building a ship for us?” Asked Luffy.

“Right, you were sleeping. Yes, He bought some rare materials and wanted to build us a ship with them.” Answered Sanji.

“Woooo!, that guy is awesome!” Exclaimed Luffy.

“I'm looking forward to seeing this ship.” Said Zoro.

“In the meantime, we can go do some shopping!” Said Nami.

“Guys…I can't seem to find the bag with the 100 million we had left. I'm sure I put it here.”

“Oh, that…we gave it to the Galley-La guys to pay for all the booze and meat we ate at the feast we had yesterday.” Said Luffy with an innocent smile, not realizing how doomed He was.

“Oh...Luffy…” Vivi shook her head.

“You gave them our money!” Shouted Nami.

“Well, it was our feast” Answered Luffy.

“There is barely anything left here!” Yelled Nami.

“Yeah…in the end, most of the town ended up attending, so we ate and drank a lot, hahaha” Said Luffy.

After their Captain received the beating of his life. Nami shared the money left with the rest of the crew.

The ship would still take a few more days to be ready, so during that time, they had nothing to do but tour the city.

Vivi did spend some time having fun with her friends, but also made sure to dedicate time to some training.

During the last weeks, she has learned many new things, like water bullets and soru but she will need more practice to perfect those techniques and she will make use of any free time they had.

Three days later.

The Strawhats were relaxing in their room when Nami noticed something.

“The log pose is finally ready!” Said Nami with excitement.

“The log pose is already pointing to the next island, uh?” Said Kokoro.

“Then, all we need is the new ship and we can leave!” Said Luffy.

“Franky said that He wanted to surprise us, so we shouldn't come by until it's ready.” Commented Chopper

“I wonder what is the next island.” Said Usopp.

“Where is the needle pointing to?” Asked Kokoro.

Nami looked intensely at the log pose. “mmm, now that you mentioned it… it's very strange, is like is pointing a bit downwards.”

Kokoro laughed. “Of course! The next island is Fishman island, the paradise under the sea!”

“Fishman island?!....mer…mer….mermaids!” Shouted Sanji.

“mmm, I kinda want to see mermaids too…” Said Vivi.

“I got mixed feelings about going to an island full of fishmen…” Said Nami.

“Yeah, after everything that happened on your island…” Said Luffy.

“Those fishmen were pirates, I'm sure that not all of them are like that” Added Zoro.

Sanji was dancing in excitement. “That's right you moss head! Fishman island is a famous spot in the Grand Line. Beautiful mermaids draw arcs above the water and play with the fish in the dream kingdom!”

“If there are pretty girls involved, Sanji is always a well of information. Did someone else notice this?” Asked Vivi.

“Is not going to be that easy to get there.” Said Kokoro.

“I'm more curious about the ‘beneath the sea’ part. ” Commented Robin.

“You'll get it when you get there. That's not the problematic part.” Said Kokoro. She then threw a newspaper on the table.

“Look at the front page.”

Nami started reading. “What is this…14 ships disappeared this month…again. What does this mean?”

“The Florian Triangle. You have to cross that area in order to arrive at paradise. More than 100 ships are lost each year in that area of the sea. Later on, people will come across ships with no crew. And there have been sightings of ghost ships that carry the dead as crew.”

“That's so scary!” Cried Chopper.

“Let's just go through a different route! We can't fight ghosts!” Suggested Usopp.

“You mean I can meet a living skeleton? That's so cool, I wanna add one to my crew!” Exclaimed Luffy.

“What kind of thought is that?” Mumbled Zoro.

“Noo! I don't wanna meet a ghost…This is soo creepy” Cried Nami.

“Merchant and pirate ships coming back as ghost ships. I heard of legends about a ‘treasure ship’ revolving around them” Said Robin.

“Treasure?...” Nami asked. She then rose her fist in the air. “Alright!, let's go find us some ghost ships and clean them up!”

“Leave it to me! I wanna find one of those skeletons!” Yelled Luffy with excitement.

Vivi smiled softly. ‘Brook…’
