Although Amber and I had to abbreviate our trip through #NOLA, I was able to wander - and wonder - around the city by myself for a little while. It was quite fun, and I encountered a couple interesting people. And artwork.

The first print I bought was the upper left mermaid. This was done by a wonderful artist by the name of Barbara Yochum, and she and I stood outside Jackson Square and talked for quite a while about everything from manners to tea leaf readings. She has some great pieces you should check out.

The print to the right is from an artist whose card I seem to have misplaced. I know we bought it from a great store called Secondline Arts & Antiques which is a must-visit if you are in New Orleans. It was like going into a TARDIS filled with crazy awesome stuff! If I find the artist info I will edit and post, because they had a bunch of mermaid stuff - but this one with the angler lure felt really cool to me.

Finally, I bought a December Diamonds ornament called Empowered. They make a variety of mermaid and fairy pieces you can buy around the city and at their website. There were a number of different mermaids/men I could have picked up, but she made me smile the most. I also like being able to see how the skin/scale transition is realized.

Alright, now to add these to the Transformeum and get back to work!
