Should I Buy an Ad? (Patreon)

So, authors can buy ads on RR. You see plenty of them I'm sure when you're on the site reading. It's something I've thought about for a while, and I've been making this ad for fun, but I haven't pulled the trigger yet. 

Pro: Getting an ad will increase visibility, which should increase readership, and might get Tenebroum on Rising Stars. This is especially true right now since the story has been naturally surging recently. In terms of readership:

0-100 readers - 11 weeks
100-200 readers - 10 weeks
200-300 readers - 8 weeks
300-400 readers - 3 weeks

Con: That increasing speed and visibility is due to one factor: the story rating. So many people have kindly rated the story 5 stars that Tenebroum currently sits at #143/56,000+ That's kind of incredible, and I'm honestly blown away by it. Putting an ad up and getting on rising stars will both attract less interested readers who will downvote the story for fun. 

So, I go back and forth. My plan was always: make world maps, make dungeon maps, then buy ads, but lately I feel like I'm just make excuses. I'm not sure. I welcome your votes and/or thoughts.
