Hey guys!! I'm home from my first convention of the season, TCAF in Toronto, which (if you've heard me babble about this before) is my absolute place to table. This year, I made more money than I have at any other con (!) and covered hotel fees, table fee, and gas to/from Toronto (!!!).

In More TCAF News....

I had the absolute joy of attending a dinner hosted by Hope Nicholson of Bedside Press and the Kickstarter comics outreach division, in which tons of talented and diverse creators across the Canadian and American publishing world got to meet each other in-person, drink IPAs, and discuss the state of indie comics at large. Discussions included talk about the Oni/Lion Forge merger and what's going to happen to the editors and books (particularly, "does X/Y/Z have a new job yet and when can I hire them??"), getting Canadian cartoonists together in a more cohesive way, and, of course, how to stem the global rise of xenophobic fascism (which is a dinner topic for most people nowadays I think).

Hopefully I'll be able to tell you guys more about what's next in graphic-novel-town, without jinxing it, next week!

Sell Out! With me tonight!

Tabula Idem sold out just before closing on the second night of TCAF, which means I'm either really good at timing, or I'm getting better at this "predicting stock" thing.

The Boys Are Back In Town

Jacob & I are officially moved into our brand new (renovated) house (apartment)! We're super excited to not be living in a single studio room with a bed on top of a ladder.

I'm going to get cracking on some residency applications this weekend, specifically New Bedford's whaling historical district artist residency, because I am somehow still not done with Cold Harbor OR my Cape Cod zine from my Provincetown / Cape Cod Dunes residency, despite staying at the shack two friggin years ago. SO MUCH WHALING AESTHETICS. I think I blame Dishonored.

With love,

Andi
