Evrina's head type is a style I've been using since I was very young.  The problem is that I often designed heads that only work from one direction and then I'm incapable of working out how it should look at different angles.  Over time I've managed to more or less work out the topography of her head, but sometimes I'm still not sure. I will often accidentally default to a more traditional shape and then realize later that I messed up how she should look.  That said she's one of my favorite characters to draw because she has resting bitch face and is nearly always scowling or smirking.  Her head is also designed to have short hair.  In universe you could say that she eventually learned that she looks best with short hairstyles, although it's arguable that she looks fine with longer hair and I just have a bias.

For Ramon I used a longer angular face and gave him a nose with a noticeable flat ridge.  This was mainly to distinguish him from other characters I've used with similar structures.  He also has tended to look a bit dead eyed since I've used him so rarely.  I never really sat down and worked out how his eyes should look.  I'm also not sure if I ever gave him a surname.  If I ever did I've completely forgotten it.  Evrina's is Brach which indicates that she has at least partially German heritage.  Her first name is a bastardization of the slightly more common name Everina, but her middle name is Shina which is generally attributed to Japan, although many cultures have names that overlap with no actual connection in origin.  She is some kind of vague mix of white and Asian.  Since her parents are American born it's likely that they are also mixed to some degree and she is just your basic American mutt made of the genetic stew Americans frolic around in.

Ramon is probably some kind of Hispanic Native American mish mash that ended up landing on looking more or less Mexican ish.  Since he's from Kansas there's almost no end to the genetic heritage he could potentially have randomly mixed in.  Once you start getting alchemical with human breeding you can get combinations that don't look anything like what you assumed you started with.  I could potentially throw even more question on the whole affair by giving him a surname that makes no sense with him visually, like Takahashi.

The part of Kansas was extremely diverse when I lived there and has only continued that trend in the years since.  Virtually anything is on the table when it comes to writing the backstories for characters there.

I love the longer hair (but then I'm biased)... ;D

First I've given it much thought, but Evrina looked kind of interesting in that third image from the left in the bottom row. Maybe she looked like that in high school.
