Update on updates (Patreon)
Content
There are unfortunately less days in February and it has me stressed! Haha.
Is everyone still liking having longer chapters as opposed to frequent chapters? I know that it really spaces out the time between updates, but longer chapters do take longer, and I’m also struggling to see that longer chapters makes it look like I’m not providing content 😭 I do like writing longer chapters, I think it helps to give readers enough time to actually get back into the story, and gives me the ability to actually give the characters time and growth together.
After working in Black Velvet for the start of February (with large chapters), I have been focusing more on the five and ten tier stories to give them an equal amount of love.
I hate money talk, but please remember that the most popular stories are on the lowest tier, which (in hindsight) was a bad move on my part — but I hate the idea of increasing prices, so please understand that I try to cater to every tier and still be able to profit enough to pay my bills and spend time writing. (Which means making sure the content on the five and ten tier is appealing, because if I lose patrons, I definitely cannot afford to stay home and write) that’s just the reality of the situation. I shot myself in the foot and now I’m scrambling around tiers, haha, but I appreciate every single person who is supporting me and I feel so lucky to even be able to write — so much so that I don’t want to mess with the tiers right now and scare everyone who has joined me here away.
(Also, just a heads up, if you are on the lowest tier, you will see the least amount of updates but I am working towards and update and working on stories nonstop. I am only addressing this because I do get exit surveys about slow updates — and I’m so sorry that it may appear less active to you, but there isn’t a day that I am not writing. Some books are harder for me, some chapters take longer to write depending on content. Longer chapters take me 2-4 days (outlining, editing and writing). If you divide that by the amount of stories and the days in a month, it’s about the amount of updates that I push out in a month. It may not seem like much to read, but it’s a lot of work to write)
Another big exit survey bummer I get is that it’s hard to find content! I do hate that about this platform, it’s such a pain, and it’s hard to keep up on my masterlist because I am a one man show and drowning at all times in the amount of work I’ve made for myself.
I am working on The Blue House and Wicked Boy, now, if there’s something you’re looking forward to leave it below.
Thanks for your support! I am by no means complaining. Just explaining where I’m at and some concerns that I have about a handful of exit surveys. I appreciate everyone so much.
I’m sorry if interest is dropping in any of the books, I try really hard to update evenly amongst all the ongoing stories. When I noticed a drop of interest (which I can only gage by likes/comments, I polled patrons on the higher tiers, (the five and ten tier, who have access to most/all of the stories) on which stories they enjoy the most out of all the stories available, so I am listening and will focus on those stories more.
(Top 4 votes were: Black Velvet 30%, Wicked Boy 24%, Darling 16%, and Erebos 9%)
Thank you so so much for your support and allowing me to pursue my love of writing and I am beyond grateful for everyone who has joined me to read my work on this platform. I wish nothing but the best for you! I hope everyone is staying healthy, happy and safe. I hope that you continue to support me in the future 💖
