Deep inside the mountains, where the lava streams flow like veins in the rock floor, live the Fire Lizards, or as they're known in the Southlands the Fizahr. The Fizahr nest their eggs in a strange way, the huge females swallow stones and after hours inside their elemental bodies, they regurgitate them. In that time the stones pass through a magical process where fire elemental energy is incorporated within them, turning them into an ever-burning material called Firestone.

Firestones are extremely resistant and can reach high temperatures, but if taken from the lava streams they start to lose their magical properties unless sealed with the proper runes.

Proficiency Needed

To properly craft an item using Firestone you need proficiency with Mason's Tools to sculpt the stone and Arcana to handle the runes. The material is extremely hot and can cause thermal explosions, so the test DC to craft using these magical stones shouldn't be lower than 15.

Know uses

Arcane Blacksmiths are known to use Firestone to fuel their forges with eternal heat. The magical fire makes it easier to work even with the hardest metals. Firestones can also be used to create stone weapons that can burn and crush with mastery. Here on the Legacy Forge, we used Firestone combined with an Ice Elemental gem to create a vapor pressure-based weapon called The Great Furnace.
