Glad you liked the first episode :) Because One Piece has its own art style and everything just fits together in every frame, it is not a big problem for people to enjoy it today. Something you can`t portray in the Live Action very well is the difference between normal Luffy and serious Luffy. The actor did his best but in the anime they place shadows on faces or black it out to a degree which is not possible with normal lighting in real life. This adds so much to the facial expressions in this show. Coby is way different here because the way he starts, is a lot different in the LA. It is a good and needed change to make him a believable character in the show. Luffy shows here that he doesn't support weakness or people that give up. Coby was changed by him in minutes, just talking about his immense dream of becoming king of the pirates. So Coby talked back to Alvida and Luffy decided that it is worth to support him.

Yea, I really like both versions so far and how they are a bit different but the same, really interesting how they've done it.
