What an amazing first season for live action! Excited to catch up on the anime now!

You will meet the guy at the end in the anime ;) Season 2 will at least take 2 years, so maybe you caught up by that time. The credit song is the tune for Nami and it fits her so well. Because there is not a definite power scale in One Piece the strength of characters is often displayed by the connections they have and how they talk and respect each other. (Little glimpse of that are Mihawk and Shanks here) There are so many different abilitys people can have(besides Devil Fruits) and some are still unknown. My personal favorite character will always be Zoro, just because i like his characteristics and they match my own the most. The best changes from the anime for me is probably Sanji because his love for women is a little annoying from time to time. Here they handle this side of him so well and it even benefits the crew while talking to Nojiko. Zoro`s and Sanji`s bromance is so good. They respect each other a lot, but they will never say that, when the other one is around. There are a lot of changes from the anime here but they are mostly fine. I think Sirup Village was a lot cooler with the horror aspect in the Live Action. Arlong Park was not bad but the anime version hits more. There wasn't enough time for that Arc to fully unfold in the Live Action. When you watch the anime i suggest watching the SUB version witch the original Japanese voices. The English DUB voice of Luffy doesn`t feel right for me, but decide for yourself. The other characters i don`t know because i can`t get me to watch more then 2 or 3 episodes with that DUB :D

Dude I totally agree with you on all that, from what I've heard of the anime comparisons to the LA. I feel Zoro will be my favorite in the anime, LA wise he hasn't sparked my interests too much in him yet besides his action. I feel I like LA Sanji more than LA zoro and in reverse for the anime. And I feel you on the sub dub thing man, unfortunately (uh oh here it comes) I'm a dubber haha. I do like sub for some shows and prefer it, but overall I am too ADHD and dyslexic to be watching sub 1k+ episodes haha. Like I watched hell's paradise sub and it was solid, I tried to rewatch in dub and could not do it, just felt off. So I totally get it and based on preferences. I do love the voice actor for zoro in dub so that's one of my big interests too haha.

I'm not sure if I can choose a favorite live action character without having the anime clouding it...but I can say that I HATED Usopp in the anime and it took an eternity to finally have neutral feelings about him. However, I actually liked him in the live action! They made him way less annoying. He's so much more endearing and charismatic to the point that I almost got teary eyed during his backstory scene. Considering he's my least favorite "good" character of any anime...that says a lot for me to be so moved and get enjoyment out of seeing him in the live action show. Edit: Oh, and the guy that was teased at the end of the episode...you can see a younger version of him in the crowd in the first episode after the execution (4:11 of your vid).
