Hi everyone!

As we near our product launch, I wish to share with everyone what to expect towards the end of this month.

First of all, due to the nature of Patreon's end-of-month billing system and user interface limitations, I deeply regret to inform supporters, in particular, those who have recently switched their pledges to higher tiers after 5 Feb 2016 will only receive rewards based on their previous tier subscription

An example:

A user pledging $1 for the previous 5 months (totalling a sum of $5) and switching to a higher tier this product launch month, will only receive the $1 rewards based on their support history.

In addition, users who have recently joined after 5 Feb 2016 will not be listed under the credits page. However, do note that new supporters will still receive the respective product format (based on their pledge) after 5 Mar 2016 once accounts have been properly processed.

I apologize for any inconveniences caused in the above matter, and would recommend that you reconsider your options before the next billing transaction.

  • Patreon Supporters pledging $1 who continue to support the project over the subsequent 4 months, will  receive the final full color version comic in separate, EPISODIC parts. This will be carried out over a course of 4 months from March 2016 - June 2016. Each part will consist of 8 pages, and collecting all 4 parts will complete the full volume of Meatier Showers issue 6. This EPISODIC VERSION

is for $1 supporters, and will not feature any cover art.

  • Patreon Supporters pledging $5 and above will receive the FULL VERSION of the Patreon release of Meatier Showers 6, comprising of 32 full color pages in a single .pdf file, with the Patreon cover art variant, a name dedication page, and each supporter's name listed in the credits page*.

(*Supporters who have contributed between 5 May 2015 till 5 Feb 2016 will have their names listed in the credits page of all release versions.)

Lastly, as alternatives to curious readers outside of Patreon, we have 2 options available after the Patreon early insider access. Meatier Showers 6 will be available for preorder online. This PUBLIC RELEASE VERSION is priced at $25. It consists of all 32 full color pages, Patreon cover art (tagged with bright red border and slightly altered for differentiation). This alternative preorder method is only available between March 2016 - May 2016, after which, all online sales will cease. Customers who purchased through preorder will still be able to download the comic over a time frame of 12 months. Customers who wish to purchase beyond this time frame will have to do so through Furplanet or BadDogBooks.

The second alternative to new readers and non-Patreon supporters is the FREE VERSION which will take the form of bi-weekly updates on FurAffinity

starting with 6 full-color free-sampling page releases, and all subsequent updates in black & white.

This free version will only be available after phyiscal copies (published through Furplanet) have been sold at Anthrocon 2016 and shipped to $15 supporters.

I'm a little confused. I suppose I'm your example in a nutshell. I've pledged $1 since September, because I liked seeing your progress of the comic and I've been a fan since MS1. Seeing your progress shots has gotten me quite excited about this issue. However, from what I understand, you're telling me there's no point in upping my pledge at this point to get the publication. No matter what I pledge this month, I'm getting pigeon-holed into $1 rewards regardless. So rather than giving you $5 to get the comic asap, I'm being forced to pay $1 over four months--$4 total--to get the comic that much slower? I hope I'm reading or understanding this incorrectly?

If by, "pigeonholed", you are referring to the other 46 patraons who've pledged $5 since September 2015 till project completion (and not including those who have consistently pledged $1 at a much earlier period), then yes, these safeguards and measures are in place to ensure that all supporters are treated fairly and that their interests are protected - in particular, the ones who have pledged the most, and longest over the course of this project funding - so as to prevent other supporters from bumping their reward tiers at the very last moment and cutting straight into their commitment.

As mentioned in the related post, the retail value of the public release comic is priced at $25 and only available in May. Anyone who has not already pledged for the $5 and above reward tiers are not entitled to getting the full version of the product (of the $25 value) without fair adjustments. And no, these customers are not "forced" to pay $1 over four months as clearly stated before, they have the freedom of choice to opt for a free-to-read option available later at a much later phase. Moreover, these same customers (who are subscribing from Mar 2016 - Jun 2016 at only $1) also enjoy the prospect of and reading and collecting the full comic at least 4 months ahead of what all the other "free-to-read" readers would have been able to. Those 4 months of early access to a full-color completed product that took 10 months of full-time work and man hours to produce, are a real $4 bargain by contrast - for any excited supporter of the new issue, if time is of the essence. To sum up your fears and concerns, I will not forgo the sincerity and loyalty of my other patrons for any other customers' immediate demand for convenience and value simply because they are, "paying". I hope this helps clear up any further confusion.

I don't agree with your pricing and release model, how you seem to view your $1 supporters, the tone you've used here with me and how you're shoving my own words in my face, the implication that I'm some kind of sneak like the people who cancel pledges at the last minute, and I really just feel rotten about this whole situation. But of course it's your Patreon, you can manage it however you see fit, and I wasn't and am not saying that you owe me anything or I deserve anything. I was just trying to understand what seems like a very bizarre business model, and what options I have as a supporter, which seemed very limited. I'm not looking for an argument or a fight or a loophole.

And that's alright folks! Let's all agree to disagree. Remember, you can leave anytime you want, if you're not comfortable! No one is forcing you if you're not a consenting adult. The safe word is, "I'm not entitled"! It's that simple!

Hello another confused patron here my only question is do to my job i could only start pledging 5 dollars in January but actually didn't pledge my first 5 bucks until this month since thats how the system works do i still qualify for the digital copy or did i join a little to late.

snares

As long as you signed up before 5 Feb and your account has been processed, which according to my records it has been, you qualify.

Fiz

Alright thank you for clarifying that for me got lost for a minute
