About Debuff(4 Cost) Brook Zoro (Patreon)

For those who don't know about 4 Cost Brook Zoro:

This is the first build of Debuff Brook Zoro that made me interested in trying Brook in Zoro, but I did not like this list because I thought no Whitebeard Pirates and Izou would be very weak against the mirror. I also believed that 5 Cost Marco is a card I wanted to see in every matchup if possible, including against decks like Strawbeard that have access to Ace, and decks like Lucci where Marco is invincible. Despite my qualms with this decklist, I still believed that Brook had potential to be a very strong card,

(This is 4 Cost Brook)

• Makes 2k attackers like Izou and Nami significantly more effective by allowing them to swing into 4ks
• Makes Fire Fist read "Destroy a 7k and a 6k"
• Back-Breaking against Green(Especially Film Kid, this card ruins their 7 cost Luffy curve, or makes them pray we don't have fire fist)
• Very powerful attacker against Yellow due to being 5K base beater that combos with Fire Fist/Marco to clear Trigger units
• It's also possible to combine this with Gordon and fist/pistol destroy the 1-Of 9Beard, which I've done quite a few times in testing!

Due to these reasons I wanted to test out Brook, but I didn't want to give up on the Whitebeard Pirates package(due to how powerful it is in the mirror, and how powerful it is to see 5 Cost Marco against any matchup), so I decided to create a hybrid version.

This was the list that I decided to play, and it performed terribly. I destroyed Katakuri round 1, but proceeded to lose to NAMI and Lucci round 2 and round 3. I also double whiffed both of those games, which is kind of unlucky(and truthfully both of those games would have been a win if either of those searchers hit), but it was also a deck-building issue on my part. Izou only had 14 targets, and Nami had 16 targets(pretty good, but Nami is a much weaker searcher), and Dadan only had 16 targets as well. Also. removing Buggy from the deck, is one of the worst ideas I have had in a long time . With this list, I literally took Zoro's strength of being ultra consistent, and managed to turn it into weakness.

Following this I went 1 - 2(1 Win 2 Loss) DROP(dropped from the tournament), and decided to refine this Strawhat Zoro list and make it playable, and here is the conclusion I have reached so far:

Debuff Brook Zoro V1(The terrible version I ran in tournament is V0)

Dadan - 18 Targets

Izou - 17 Targets

Buggy - 12 Targets(this card is normally 12-14, because you don't want to see too many events)

Nami - 11 Targets

(With this we have solved the inconsistency issue)

Rather than completely removing Buggy and running a bunch of bulls**t to make Nami hit consistently, I instead focused on the Izou and Buggy engine(which I believe to the the strongest), and instead decided to run fewer Nami, we only care about increasing the odds of seeing Brook, but having an additional searcher for Beam/Guard Point and it's also nice to have a searcher for Zoro. I see Nami as potential "additional" copies of Brook, Zoro, and any of the events, even if it does whiff, I'm satisfied because I already have my main 12 searchers.

I determined to remove Otama in favor of Makino, as it was very rare that I used Otama to debuff, due to already having 4 Gordon and 4 Brook.

Having 5 Copies of 4 cost units(4 Brook + 1 Teach), is also very strong against the mirror and Whitebeard.
