All the characters that get focused on in the different episodes have appeared in earlier episodes as well, just in the background. The only exception being Blithe who was only in episode 3. It's amazing watching through this series for the second time because all the "unrecognizable" faces in the background are now characters we know and love.

Cody Sutton

Yes. I came here to say exactly this. I’ve seen this show so many times that I know all of them well but the first time through it is hard to remember all the characters.

So basically all the major battles are advances to take key position and gain territory on the enemy, it’s basically a push through France and the Netherlands into Germany. What we don’t see in this show is the Germans also fighting the advancing Russians on the other side of things at the same time

Operation Pegasus wasnt really explained in detail in the show. Those Brits they were rescuing from the other side of the river were the remains of the 1st Airborne of the British Army. They were stuck behind enemy lines after Operation Market Garden failed ( the last episode ) and they've got hit really hard, lost 8000 men out of 12000. Operation Pegasus was the codename of the effort to reunite them with the main body of the Allies. Winters didnt techically lost Easy, he is 2IC ( 2nd in command ) of the whole 2nd Battalion. That means that though he isnt in direct command of Easy Company anymore he is still with them because he is the the 2IC for the entire 2nd Battalion so he is not only responsible for Easy anymore but also for Dog and Fox companies. He is still with them but higher up in the hierarchy. I will link a chart bellow so you can see it laid and might be easier to understand. https://cf.geekdo-images.com/large/img/h0jIXh-2OStUKZFu_EcAiC9PcW0=/fit-in/1024x1024/filters:no_upscale()/pic3179709.jpg

Once again, Spartan is wrong in the first 20 seconds, and Pudgey is correct. You meet Bull in episode 1. "Captain Sobel doesn't hate Easy Company, Sgt Randleman... he just hates you" - Winters to Bull on their march. Get it together, Spartan.

Winters never forgot the young German soldier he shot for the rest of his life.
