Full Length Reaction Guide

We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync.  Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen.  Anytime we pause, there will be timer/countdown on screen to prompt you. So if we’re about to pause, there’ll be a countdown, and you are expected to pause as the number reaches 0. The same will happen when we press play after pausing. You will press play as the number reaches 0.  Here are some popular ways people sync up the reaction with their own copy of the show:

  • Use a dual monitor PC setup to watch both screens simultaneously

  • Use the split screen functions on your computer/phone to watch them side by side

  • Chromecast / Screenshare one screen to your TV while watching the other screen on a phone or laptop

  • HDMI your laptop / tablet to the TV and use the TV as a 2nd monitor (not mirror display)

  • Use your Smart TV or Gaming console to play the YouTube reaction and your Phone/Laptop to play the show (or other way around)

  • Use Google chromes picture in picture mode to overlay your own copy of the show over our reaction in a smaller window size (Link to the extension here: ( https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/picture-in-picture-extens/hkgfoiooedgoejojocmhlaklaeopbecg?hl=en )

Loving the lighting, also glad you enjoyed some well deserved time off

Elvira Heredia

Yes!! I thought there was no HOHH because of the break!!

Malorie

Love this one! Also I hope you guys do another Mike Flanagan show like The Haunting of Bly Manor and Midnight Mass. he’s a great storyteller

Paul

There's been a few shows I've watched with you guys now that I never saw before. But this is the first show I couldn't wait but to watch it all the way through while you were on your break, and wow are you both in for some wild surprises and twists. A masterpiece show this is.

Rich Plumb

Of all of Mike Flanagan's shows this is by far the best. The story telling with the characters is next level, you really feel like you know this family.

Lyn Hurst

I am intrigued by this show. Thinking about things that happen in so many families that are horrible and even worse than ghosts. I have friends and family members that experienced some of the heinous acts such as the foster dad was doing to the girl. What is weird is he said the others just adapted right away. Was he also abusing them and they just kept quiet. I had someone in my family take their life many years ago. It affects everyone. There is really no way to make sense of it. My parents were closest to them, and it really did a number on them.

Blyth Manor is amazing !! please react to it after Haunted of Hill House

Toan Toan

All the kids do such a great job. I felt so bad for Luke in this episode. Little bro was traumatized.

josh york

loving these reactions. hope you watch the haunting of bly manor eventually as well.

imperial

Love how each episode seems to focus on a different character. The acting is SO good. Young Theo did a great job emulating her older counterpart. I agree, she's also my favorite character so far. And I hope Spartan gets to rub it in once the checkbook stuff is explained 🤣

Traven Sweetsir

Theo is a great character I like how this show explores the depths of each sibling and gives them an episode to learn more about how they deal with their past.

Jason Sadowski

Sorry for the novel that I am about to write. There is a song by the Counting Crows called "Mrs. Potter's Lullaby" that contains lyrics that I think offer one of the philosophical explanations of how the human brain works which applies to this show.. At least in terms of processing life experiences & how for some the sole vestige they have left to cope with how life has or continues to beat them down is sleep. The lyrics are "If dreams are like movies; then memories are films about ghosts. When I watch this show while there are definitely supernatural elements I dont believe that has anything to do with the true bogeyman of the series. The real bogeyman is their memories & unprocessed trauma. If you really consider the concept of memory it is quite ethereal & supernatural. No two people can ever have identical recollection of an event. In a lot of ways memories are sort of like a form momentary time travel. What I mean by that is I think most of us have experienced a moment in life where a particular smell triggers a memory from the past. Or we might drive by a building or place of significance from our past and for a moment seeing it takes you back to days gone by. Plus memory is capable of haunting us, punishing us, causing pain & suffering. With this show because of all the unresolved tension, unexplained events & untreated trauma from the past memories transform into "ghost stories" that people are reluctant to re-tell because they feel like a secondary haunting. We have seen time & time again in this series where no two characters involved in the same events have the same memory of it. In a lot of ways for these characters the only peace they have to escape life is through sleep.

Btw Theodora's actress is Mike Flanagan(the director)'s wife. I'm so enjoying these reactions 🥹😍

Retrograde69

Can't wait for you to see the next episodes! Love your analysis.

NZ Hayley

Theo is my favourite character, I definitely find her the most interesting! I’ve seen HOHH a few times, and sometimes I catch the ‘hidden’ ghosts but mostly I miss them I think, but I think I spotted one under/behind the ladder when Theo first opens the door down into the cellar and it creeped me out so much 🫣😂😂😂😂

Lyn Hurst

I agree on the memories we not only experience things differently, our memories are processed based on our take on things or our bent (personality traits). My mother sometimes tells me she doesn't remember certain things I encountered as a child, but she was looking at it from an adult perspective and sometimes she wasn't there but I expected her to remember based on what I told her at the time. But I was 6 or 7 so I am not certain how it was articulated.

Lyn Hurst

I noticed the men or boys during the time they were in Hill House did not experience things the way the girls did.

Retrograde69

They are only on episode 3. Please don't reveal or give too much away regarding the underlying meaning and parallel story of the entire show. It's far too early in the series. Leave the analysis until later episodes so they can gauge the meaning for themselves first. I enjoy watching their post-viewing discussions on episodes and would like for them to provide their analysis and review first without influence from others.

Retrograde69

Bro, spoiler much? They've not discovered this yet, they're hidden for a reason. Let them discover this on their own.

big harsher

"where my hug at" ahh ghost 😭💀

NZ Hayley

They’ve already watched the episode, it’s not a spoiler.

Moderator Message: I ask that people please stop posting spoilers in these comments. This has happened a number of times already. If this becomes enough of a problem S&P will simply not read the comments on the patreon videos as we do not have built in moderation tools here. This is not fair to everyone else, so please ask yourself if they are already aware of what you are telling them, and if its in the episodes they have watched. Thank you.

imperial

Because they argued about it during the episode and during the post discussion lol (I don't know what the truth is, but I think Spartan is right. There's no way Theo would give Kevin a heads up if he was having an affair or doing something bad behind Shirley's back).

Lyons

Why are they reading the comments of shows like this in the first place😂 we all know what happens.. spoilers aren't a new thing. They will never not be a thing because some people can't contemplate what a spoiler actually is. Also they should be watching a show like this at the very least twice a week.. even if they still only post 1 reaction a week..

Jason Sadowski

This is my first time watching the series. I am on the same episode as them. I broke down a counting crows song but now I kinda have been spoiled by your need to critique me for having & sharing my thoughts. What I have seen so far in this series is/was allowing to process all the death that has been prominent in my life for the past few years. When I watched episode 3 it was just hours after seeing a family lose a father, husband and son from stage 4 metastatic cancer he was first diagnosed with less than 2 months ago. Seeing a man barely 40 yrs with 3 children dying after thinking he was just going to the hospital to get help to get rid of a headache put me in a philosophical state. I apologize. I forgot that unlike myself not everybody gives people the benefit of doubt, without assuming I know their intent or what they might be dealing with in their life. Plus considering Memento Mori is pretty universally presented in every scene of the show a pattern is developing in how things are being presented. They all have secrets different memories & trauma so it is pretty clear there is duality in what is going on. It is not just supernatural and isnt Folie 'a Deux. BTW before you accuse me of ruining Joker 2 no I haven't seen that either.

Ailene Evangelista

Love this episode, I agree Theo is my favorite sibling! It was interesting learning about how the women on the mom's side seem to have some kind of psychic ability or can sense supernatural stuff, but it manifests in different ways...

Spoilers can also mess up the experience for patreon members who are watching the show along with them. I've always thought Youtube comments as the best place for spoiler-type additions. Even saying a movie has a twist can mess things up, as now the viewer is on the lookout. Just going in blind makes for a great reaction. imho

Lyn Hurst

There is a place to post spoilers on discord.

SuddenImpulse

Lyons you must be new here. They have operated the same way for 2 1/2 years without issue. A lot of people support them over other creators because of the community interaction.
