It's interesting when you think about how each kid was traumatized by living at Hill House and how each one deals/dealt with the trauma in their own way. Steve decided to write about the House as his therapy. Shirley, being the perceived strongest sibling, dove head first into death, literally staring it in the face every day by being a mortician. Theo decided to "fix" her trauma by trying to help others with theirs. Luke self-medicated with drug abuse, and Nell couldn't deal with her trauma and ended with mental health issues (I mean, they all did, but she was the most severe and had no crutch).

Love the darker background! Yeah Victoria Pedretti is amazing in You and also as the lead in Bly Manor which is part of The Haunting anthology series. Some of the scenes are uncomfortable to watch, especially in relation to Shirley's work, death is a big theme in this show. Big props for people who can do what she does, maybe it's therapeutic for them in a way, I don't know. And yes in episode 1, they say that the mother ended her life too, that's why Shirley was so shocked when Steve told her on the phone that Nell did the same. Luke was definitely high when he came for the wedding, the situation around his character is so complicated, I feel bad for him but I also get Shirley's pov, there's only so much you can do for someone. Oh that's right, Nathan Scott is there too!
