Loren and Vellith, two assassins who have spent months tracking and trying to kill the same target while inadvertently causing the other's plans to fail. They both had witnessed the immense strength and power of Swetyne, the prince's wife and personal protector.

They both knew there was no way they would beat her to even get the chance to kill the princess, so at the same time, both decided to give up the job of killing her and wanted to attempt to join her since their old career was now ruined.

That’s when they officially met each other for the first time. As they looked into each other's eyes they both felt the sparks and connections between them. Adelia noticed them and her eyes grew wide and she ran over despite Swetyne telling her not to run off.

Adelia ran right up to Vellith and started complimenting her horns, saying she’d never seen anything like them, and started asking a ton of questions about them. Vellith was extremely embarrassed and didn’t know what to say, she’d never been complimented, never mind by an Elf.

The princess was all over her and the knight was just watching them suspiciously. This annoyed Loren who asked her straight up if she had a problem with monsters. Swetyne shook her head and said not all all, she only has a problem with assassins.

Both Loren and Vellith took a step back, their hearts were beating with fear. Swetyne knew who they were. Adelia turned towards Swetyne and told her to relax, they clearly learned how impossible that task was with her around, and they seemed to want something else.

She invited them to eat with her and talk about what they wanted from her, and they agreed, with Loren asking to eat somewhere indoors. Once they got settled in and ate Vellith started talking about her life and the job she was hired for.

Swetyne seemed interested in this, she said she suspected the church would do something like this, and she’d be sending word back to her father so he could take care of them. Then there was Loren, she started to tell her story and stopped after the vampire attack.

She froze and looked down. That’s when Adelia told her that there's no reason to be ashamed of being a vampire. That caused Loren’s head to shoot back up and look at the princess. She removed her hood and asked how she could tell.

Adelia talked about meeting a nice vampire once, and because of that, she found a cure for it. So if Loren wanted it, she would make it for her. Loren thanked her, but she quite liked being a vampire and was hoping to use her power in service to her.

Especially with the mad king who called for her attention. This seemed to sour Adelia’s face. She said he had been causing trouble, but no one except him actually wanted to go to war. This news was dire and she’d have to bring it to her father immediately.

After telling their tales and coming clean, Adelia agreed to hire them as part of her squad, even if Swetyne said it wasn’t a good idea. Of course, they have to follow Swetyne’s orders, so she has no problem keeping them in line.

They then began traveling back to Adelia’s castle, so she could inform the kind of this dire news. It was about a month time before they would reach the castle, which was plenty of time for them to adjust to their new jobs, and each other.

They often found themselves guarding in the front so Swetyne could watch them. This gave the two plenty of time to talk, which is when they learned that the other was the one who caused all their plans to fail.

They wanted to be mad at each other, but without them messing up the other's plans, they might have been killed by Swetyne, and they definitely wouldn’t have this safe easy job now, so they decided to let that go.

However, just because they were on the same team now, that didn’t mean that their ability to get in the other way stopped. When bandits or wild monsters would try to attack, both would jump into action.

Vellith would cast magic to shoot and then hit Loren because she had charged the enemy, or even when Loren would get flung back by enemies and hit Vellith while she was preparing a spell. They were constantly messing the other up.

Adelia thought they were cute and would laugh at them, while Swentyne was annoyed and would scold them. This caused them to start bickering with each other about how useless the other was, but it also caused them to spend most of the day thinking about the other.

They still had a connection and neither one had acted on it, not until the night before they reached the castle. Everyone was sitting at camp eating dinner and Loren was sitting alone in the back not eating.

Vellith felt kind of bad, she knew that Loren could eat food, but it did nothing for her, she needed blood and was starving. She didn’t want to tell the princess this, as she didn’t her to think she was still some blood-crazed monster.

So Vellith grabbed two bowls of food walked over to Loren and sat next to her. Loren saw both bowls and told Vellith it was unnecessary, she wasn’t hungry. Loren laughed and said that was okay, both of them were for her anyway.

Vellith then started to eat from one of the bowls. Loren on the other hand looked annoyed and asked why she needed two bowls and why she had to be eating next to her. Vellith didn’t answer and just finished the first bowl.

She then placed the first bowl on the ground and started to unbutton her shirt and remove it. Loren jumped up and asked her why the hell she was stipping here in camp. Vellith told her to quiet down and said no one would see them over here anyway.

Loren still confused asked her what exactly would they even see them doing, she was the one stipping. Vellith rolled her eyes and said she removed her robe so she wouldn’t have to clean blood out of it, she then turned her neck to the side.

Vellith said her blood shouldn't taste that bad, as she was mostly human. Loren looked at her neck, she could sense the blood just waiting to be sucked, and she was starving, despite that she still asked for it she was sure.

Vellith smiled and said yeah, as long as she didn't turn her into a vampire, or suck all her blood out and kill her. Loren said she didn’t need nearly that much, and there was no way she’d turn her into a vampire so she could be just as strong as her.

The two laughed and Loren reached down and bit into Vellith’s neck. She began to feed on her blood and Vellith grabbed the second bowl and kept eating like nothing was going on. Some time passes and Loren quenches her thirst and Vellith finishes her second helping.

Loren sat down next to Vellith and thanked her for that, and said if there was anything she could do to repay him she would, then joked saying she didn’t really want to owe her anything. Vellith a bit dizzy from blood loss said she could repay her right now.

She laid her head onto Loren's lap and looked up at her. She told her not to leave her while she slept and passed out. Loren was bright red with embarrassment and couldn’t even deny her request because she was out cold.

So she just sat there watching her. Loren couldn’t help but think she was so adorable alone on her lap with blood dripping from her neck and no shirt on. Loren's embarrassment grew as she realized there was a girl with no top on lying in her lap.

She quickly used her robes to cover Vellith and she wanted until morning came around to wake her up. Vellith was incredibly embarrassed when she realized what she had done. She never meant to fall asleep half naked on her and apologized.

Loren said it was okay, she was just repaying a favor. The two packed up and got back to their position in the front as they continued to walk towards the castle. Today though for the first time, the tow remained silent as they walked.

Both were embarrassed, and their heads were filled with more than just normal thoughts of the other, and Vellith was having a bit of a hard time. The very little part of her that is a succubus was starting to activate, and she was craving Loren sexually.

So whether either will admit it, they are in love and together as a couple. Despite that though, they continue to get in each other way and cause the other's plan to fail constantly, then they fight about it all day. Adelia just adores them, but Swetyne can’t stand them but knows they’re here to keep her wife safe, so they’ll stay as long as they continue to do that.
