Here's a filler guide if you want to see what you should skip: https://www.animefillerlist.com/shows/one-piece The ones you should skip are in red. Most people would prefer if you skipped fillers, tho if there ever comes a filler arc that people want you to watch, they will say so in the comments in advance You can see 54-60 are fillers. You can skip those, although it is a pretty good little filler arc that I think you would enjoy. 196-206 are fillers that people love and would expect you to watch. Other than that I think all other fillers should be skipped 💪 Filler episodes can be good but you just have to know they aren't canon, meaning whatever happens in them has zero effect on the actual story, and once they're finished you should forget everything that happened in them. Filler episodes can be random side stories or like recap episodes. They're usually made when the anime is close to catching up to the manga, which is something the anime production needs to avoid (kinda like Game of Thrones running out of books to go by in later seasons because the books weren't finished), or for special occasions like a movie releasing or holidays Just got to your talk about fillers at the end there lol, seems you are already well aware 😅 oh well

these episode were comprised from a group of Chapter covers(mini 1 page stories at the start of a one piece manga chapter) featuring Buggy, it may seem like filler but it actually happened in the manga

Thanks so much for that info!! The 196-206 watching was new and we might have not reacted to those! LOVING all the advice here from everyone ❤️❤️

We actually enjoyed the break from fighting to so we really enjoyed these last 2 episodes 😊😊

I'm so excited for you guys to get to the next island! Loguetown is one of those pivotal story arcs! I was wondering if you guys noticed Alvida's transformation from her appearance in episode 1, I thought it was funny :D

☺️☺️❤️❤️ yes we weren’t sure what was going on and how she changed her looks!😆😆 Someone said she ate a devil fruit🤔🤔

Honestly I'm glad you have the official filler list. 196-206 is known as G-8 and it's really hilarious. It's by far the funniest filler. The comedy is particularly strong those 10 episodes. Loguetown is the next official canon arc and final arc of the East Blue Saga. After that the Alabasta saga begins with Reverse Mountain! One more stop before the Grand Line

That is a good list to follow but also gotta make sure you don't read the titles on there. Easier said than done cause it's a list of actual titles but please try focusing on reading the episode number and don't read titles!

If you're talking about the list I linked, they can just look at the red numbers. They don't have to scroll down to look at titles

Oh yeah, maybe someone should have thought to define filler, lol. Simply put, it's material that wasn't in the manga, which means that Oda didn't write it. Sometimes it's whole episodes, but in One Piece it's more often additional scenes in episodes which are otherwise based on manga material. These two episodes are more or less an example of the latter: Oda released this story as a series of still images, and the anime writers put in some extra material to stretch it to two episodes. All of the Strawhat crew interactions here are pure anime filler, for example! All the flashbacks in these two episodes are a also type of "filler" in that it repeats what you've already seen in order to pad the episodes. The scenes themselves are canon, but they're not supposed to be repeated here. One risk with the filler material that's not written by Oda is that it can sometimes contradict canon parts of the series and portray characters in exagerrated or flattened ways. That's why most people aren't really interested in it (and why the One Pace fancut became so popular). If you want to take a quick look at how the manga did it, someone has compiled the cover story in order here (don't worry about reading the chapter titles, these covers were for chapters from Usopp's introduction up until the Arlong Park arc): https://thestrawhatluffy.wordpress.com/2016/08/09/buggys-crew-after-the-battle/ It's a very quick read, and a lot of fun! Underneath each image is a translation of the image text.

For range of emotions, you’re dead on about the difference between AOT & OP. Anger, excitement, sadness, AND comedy? Well, that’s Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. 😉

Hey guys I would say do a little research with fillers as some of them are actually very good and some are not really fillers, they just cover content that was released in the manga cover panel stories and goes more in depth on them. Also the episode may feel like filler, but that's because Oda likes to go in depth with a lot of the characters and make them feel more real with them progressing alongside the main crew in the background

Oh yea that dumb boxed and sheltered son joke was a callback to luffy and zoro both asking gaimon the same thing when they first met him haha one piece has a ton of callbacks to previous episodes, some even hundreds of episode beforehand. Side note, don't worry about the heart pirate captain's name too much, it's meant to be a secret in the manga/anime anyway
