Don't know if it has been mentioned before but just wanted to add Oda's insane work schedule. He sleeps only 3 hours between 2am and 5am and the rest of the time is used for work to make the weekly deadline for new chapters. He often times sleeps at his desk so that when he wakes up he can continue with his work. He often times even skips meals. And for years he hardly if ever took any breaks or vacation time. Because of this other Mangaka describe Oda as a machine. Luckily in recent years his wife and editor ( not the same person) have forced him to take time off more often after a few health scares. Just mentioning all this to help you get a better understanding of all the love that goes into this story from its creator and why it is so beloved by the community

The live action was supposed to end after this next island you're going to but they ran out of budget and had to settle for 8 episodes instead of 10 Yall are about to meet one of my favourite characters! Also try and dodge filler episodes if you can 🙏 look up a One Piece filler guide if you need to. Very fun reactions :)

Happy Birthday Heather! I highly don't recommend the filler episodes. I've watched a lot of One Piece reactors. I think the best thing to do is to watch the highly requested filler episodes only. There's only 10% of the filler episodes that are must watch because it adds to the main story and super entertaining. There are about 100+ filler episodes. So around 15+- must watch filler episodes only. Those 15 filler episodes can be recorded and added to patreon and youtube. The rest yall can watch the filler in your own time if you like :). This is just my recommendation but it's your channel so do whatever you like. One piece is my favorite anime and it's hard to find another anime as rich in storytelling and feelings as this anime. P.s. this is a shonen anime so the author has to make some fan service for the "teenage boy audience". So the sanji in the anime is a little different than live action. I love both sanji but just keep that in mind for future episodes xD i kinda wish the live action sanji was the one we get in the anime since he's a little dial down when it comes to women hahahah but it's all gucci

The only One Piece fillers that I think everybody should watch are episode 196-206, you are not missing much if you skip all other fillers except certain movies and tv specials.

I'm not a fan of the filler episodes - they are basically side quests with zero impact on the plot and uninteresting characters you'll never see again. Considering the bulk of episodes it makes sense to skip them, but some people enjoy them so perhaps give them a shot and decide for yourselves. One filler arc I did really enjoy was the 'Rainbow Mist arc', but that was the only one personally. 'Long Ring Long Land' filler arc made me literally drop the show for 2 years it was so awful (not joking).

With all due respect don't listen to anyone who says the "Long Ring Long Land" arc isn't good. We get to see Luffy in his strongest form (somewhat of a joke). Plus other stuff I don't want to say because, as River Song says (Doctor Who reference), "Spoilers". But to be fair it does run a lot longer than it should.

out of all the animes I would reccomend attack on titans if you love a dark story about humanity's survival. in terms of writing its up there with one piece

there's a couple of filler arcs worth doing but for the most part I would say skip the filler, the G-8 arc which you are a couple hundred of episodes away from is worth watching. There's also certain episodes that are mostly filler but have small canon parts and those are important not to miss. The next two episodes are technically canon. A lot of people think they are filler, but they are not. I believe episode 50 and 51 are filler in the middle of the next arc, but they are pretty good episodes. Episodes 54-61 are filler, but the second half of 61 after the wanted poster break is all canon and there is a canon part in episode 55 that just gives important world building information. I don’t have a problem with filler. The problem with some of the first major filler arc is that it does have canon in it. So, you guys can watch it, but I know some people will get annoyed. I think the One Piece filler is actually pretty good compared to other anime’s filler and the majority of it fits in nicely and doesn’t feel forced in.

you can watch the filler on your own. the arcs to come after that filler are super long so it faster to watch the filler on your own. No big deal really.

Yes, this is one of the things Oda does best: ties back into all the little details and give them new meaning at the end of an arc. I always get a tear in my eye at the final shot of Bellemere's grave with the pinwheel and mandarin. It's going to be so much fun to follow you into uncharted territory and the Grand Line now that you've covered everything (more or less, Garp shows up later in the anime) that the live action adapted. Filler is a bit more complicated in One Piece compared to other anime, because most of it is added as extra scenes to episodes that are otherwise canon. The meeting with Fullbody here, for example, is not from the manga, it only happens in the anime. Which is not always a problem (in this case it was a pretty fun addition) but sometimes it gets tedious. The upcoming two episodes are a good example, because the story itself is canon, but the episodes have been padded so much that it's at least twice as long as it needed to be. I've never actually watched the pure filler episodes, but I never watch filler for anything. I would skip them, mostly because they never mean anything to the main story while also often having annoying characterisation drift. The upcoming arc has two pure filler episodes that can be completley skipped, 50 and 51. The one after that is nearly completely filler, but I think 54 has some canon content. The last half of 61 is nearly all canon except for one scene. I'm looking forward to seeing what new anime you'll pick! Full Metal Alchemist does have a lot of references to the alchemy of our world, although it uses it rather differently. It's also a fantasy story that takes place in another world, like One Piece, but it's not AS crazy and absurd. It does have a lot of humour too, but the tone is more serious right off, I'd say. If you want to do live watches, Discord might be the easiest way. That's what most people seem to do, as far as I've seen!

🤗 Hi, H&J!! 🫶 For a new anime to try, you’ll love Fullmetal Alchemist and Attack on Titan. AOT just completed, so it’s a good time to jump in on the hype. But Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is considered the best anime of all time for a good reason! 😉 And luckily, both are completed. Demon Slayer is amazing, but once you catch up you’ll play the waiting game w/ everyone else for more seasons. I think you should give the OP fillers a try. Compared to other series (like Naruto) OP has the least amount of filler at 10%. I honestly think that’s not bad, since it’s one of the longest anime. And don’t skip Skypiea or Long Ring Long Island, cuz they’re not fillers.
