this was such a beautiful episode. brb while I go sob because I'm reliving it. gosh, one of my favorite scenes of this show was the talk with magnus. it was so incredibly well done and important for isak to hear in order for him to better understand what a life with even could be like and how others navigate the same scenario. 10/10, incredible. now the phone conversation with his dad 😭 I just wanted to hold him and squeeze him so tightly and finally that text message and the scene of them reconnecting at the end just warmed my heart. it was so tender and careful and lovely and ahhhhhh all the feels 🥹🩶

such a beautiful episode. there was literally only 4 scenes but every single one of them was so important. idk if u caught it but in isak's moms text message, she mentions that isak was born at 21:21. the time from ep 4 when isak and even kissed and then the time from this episode when isak and Even reunite. what an amazing conversation where magnus educates isak on mental illness, which is so important considering isak has had a prejudice against it all season. then the next scene where he tries to call Even but gets no answer and then talks to his dad, first trying to deny he had a bf but then immediately taking it back because he knows that he has grown past that. but the tears falling when he said "im not sad" broke my heart. and then the last scene.. the church with the illuminated cross which is directly paralleling the final scene of romeo+juliet. many reactors tend to not realize it, but that text from Even was a s*cide note. thats why he's talking about how he's alone and that him and isak would be together forever in another universe and to remember that. when isak looks at the cross, images flash and all of them have to do with death. they show the video where Even talks about how the best love stories end with the main character dying. they show juliet in the church which alludes to suicide. they show the scene where Even brought up dying in their convo in ep 5. they show the scene where Even talked about "losing it" last episode. and then they show the text from the beginning where it says that manic episodes are followed by a deep depression. thats when isak looks at the text again and realizes what it actually means, and he immediately runs out to find him. when he gets to the bench, Even is not there and we see isak remember that he technically met Even for the first time in the bathroom. the look of fear on isak's face when he thinks that the worst may have happened...but as he turns to look towards the bathroom, it reveals that Even is still here. in the previous episode, when Even was rambling in the hotel, he mentioned that "you think it's going to be a romeo and juliet reference" but then it becomes the pretty woman reference where Even goes "what happens after i've rescued you" "i rescue you right back". that's what this scene is. the season built up their relationship through romeo and juliet parallels which made it seemed like it was doomed to end tragically, but isak took the step to change the narrative (:

such a great episode. so short, but so important! loved your reaction. the final scene of this episode i believe won the "tv moment of the year" award which is the norwegian equivalent of the emmys.

Again you said everything I was going to say just perfectly! Also, something I learned quite recently is that in the Bible 'Genesis 21' is The Birth of Isaac (Isak in the Norwegian Bible). Given that his mom is very religious and she gave birth to a son at 21:21 it makes sense she would name him Isak. The attention to detail in this season in particular is just unreal! You can watch it dozens of times and still find something new you hadn't noticed before!

this is so unreal and you're right I really didn't pick up on that note meaning that, however, reading this message and how you broke it all down gives me chills. I'm totally going to go back and rewatch this episode now with that information. I just know it's going to hit so much harder! ugh, my heart, I love them 😭
