This episode is heartbreaking. I always love Morgan, but this episode is definitely one of my absolute favourites for him. The way he was able to get through to Angel gets me every time. He was definitely the best person for the job. I honestly don't think anyone else on the Team could've got through to him as quickly as Morgan did. Maybe eventually, but Morgan had a connection with him that none of the others could've. And how he opened up to him about Carl Buford (FUCK CARL BUFORD!!) just always makes me cry. He very rarely actually talks about what he went through, which is understandable, but that just makes it even more powerful when he does. He's working through it, he's still traumatised by it but he is able to talk about it now and that's great. And Angel. He breaks my heart. Just looking at him breaks my heart. No one should look like that ever. He was a CHILD! And he was just put through absolute Hell for years and he made it through. Seeing him smile just makes me cry. It's so beautiful. And the Actor did AMAZING! His suicide attempt is horrible and honestly one of the most brutal scenes of the show. Like, we see people getting brutally murdered and yet that scene just feels so much more brutal to me. And I'm so glad he was able to help out with finding the other boy. I love that Rossi was kinda that person who was saying "It IS possible this guy didn't do it" and explained how it could've been a manufactured memory due to a time of extreme trauma, but he didn't let that stop him from investigating him. I think that's something that everyone in Law Enforcement should have. That knowledge that it IS possible that their Prime Suspect is innocent, until they get sufficient evidence to prove that's not the case. So I just love that Rossi was kinda objective about it. He pointed out other possibilities but still very much investigated this guy and didn't just write Sam off as crazy. He was aware that it could go either way. Always important to have someone who is like that, I think. Otherwise you could get carried away and arrest the wrong person. Or even the right person, just without enough evidence to prove it and then they get away... Yeah, Sam was so brave though! Like you said, I can not imagine learning that my Dad was doing something like this. My Dad is probably the person I am closest to in the world since my Mum died, and so I just couldn't imagine finding something like that out about him. So what you said about wishing for follow ups for some episodes gave me this really weird idea for a show. They should've had like a companion show that was just about the Trials and all that for the Unsubs they catch and the aftermath for the victims and their families. Like, each episode is about a different episode from CM and it's just a follow up. And sometimes members of the Team make appearances if they're needed in Court, or even if one of the Victims forms a kinda connection with one of them and they realise it'd be difficult to just rip them away from that after that trauma. (Though of course, not letting it get to where things got with Morgan and Ellie back in S6...) I mean, it might've turned out to be a terrible show that only got one Season or whatever, but it also could've been cool. Cuz like you, I often wish we could see what happens after.
