I like the nods to the DC Universe. When Peacemaker called Harcourt at the beginning he said he hooked up with a girl who turned out to be a meta-human. So he was surprised at her super powers but not dumbfounded because he's interacted with powered people before. Another example is when the female detective first arrived on the scene and sees the crater she says, "I hope this isn't some cape shit", meaning she hopes superheroes aren't involved.
