THAT BULLET THAT SAVED THE WORLD

Man in this season the writers really mastered the art of raising the stakes in the story, first by showing how broken the world is in ep 1, then in episode 2 how broken and hopeless the people inside this world are and in episode 3 how strained the relationships between our protaginists are, finally with this one they raise them even more by breaking the actual characters (Olivia and Peter in particular) with Etta's Death, no other season has had higher stakes than this one and as sad and tragic as it is i really respect them for going all out right at the end, they really didn't leave anything on the table when it comes to season 5. Great acting across the board in this episode, all the scenes with Broyles were amazing with him always being ready to fight because he could be found out at any point by the observers but keeping his cool throughtout it. Them using fringe events to fight the observers and loyalist was also super cool, there are going to be a lot of those moments in this season. That last scene was so heartbreaking but incredibly well acted, loved that Etta tried to distract Windmark by feeding him that memory so he coudln't read the fact that she was grabbing her knife but he saw through it and then the goodbye with Peter and Olivia always breaks me because you just can't believe that they would lose their daughter again after everything they went through to get her back but it's happening and so fast, that look from Peter at the end...

Oh this episode. The call backs. The relationships. The tension and the tragedy. 😥 I'll take just a moment to mention the captivating performances of Winmark, played by the late Michael Kopsa. Who sadly died at the beginning of this week. He did such a magnificent job in this role. Walter obviously knows what Olivia and Peter will be going through. As we wind up the story in this final season. Now the story direction and the mission is a little different. It does beg the question. What would the situation be now, had Walter not fractured the world by crossing over to a parallel universe to save this boys life. Someone who now fights with the child Walter experimented on. Because he and his lab partner foresaw they would be needed one day. Perhaps not knowing it would be to save the world from human invaders from the future. (That's a sentence that will never not sound bonkers. 🤣) Those fighters are gifted with the powers, tools and knowledge of fringe science. Inspired either directly or indirectly by a men unburden by the question. Should I do this? The one certain thing that always seems to follow, is tragedy will almost likely ensue.
