Love this science themed podcast - a great compliment to the channel :) I'm very curious to see how space exploration will handle the opposing views of on the one hand trying to conserve the pristine conditions of the places we will visit - versus mining them for natural resources. As you've mentioned, our solar system alone hold vast quantities of water, iron, hydrogen, etc... but i remember reading somewhere that if a manned NASA mission were to find water on Mars (or any other planet or moon) at some point, they'd have to stay well away from it to avoid contaminating it with Earth microbes. There was actually a news report last week about how the astronauts movements on the Moon during the Apollo 15 and 17 missions actually raised the subsurface temperature of the Moon by as much as 2 degrees.
