The Petrified Circle [47x47] (Patreon)

Deep in the woods lays a strange circular building in ruins. Everything there is made of white stone, even the human statues that seem frozen in time in the garden.

All statues are looking at the center of the building, their faces showing fear, anger and surprise. Some of them are even running towards the center with a weapon in the hand. What happened here?

Investigators say that it may have been a Basilisk or as the myth tells, a Medusa. Apparently the stone can be reverted back to flesh by using Basilisk blood, but no one knows how much time passed since the petrification occured and it may be dangerous to turn them back from stone. And also, finding a Basilisk is hard... right?

Was the structure built after the statues? Or were the victims attacked in this kind of temple? For sure there were more statues years ago but, even though it's considered blasphemy, some private collectors stole some of them.
